Back in his office, Yarrow read through the list of names written on the pad on his desk. The same names were also written on the blackboard in the incident room. More and more names would be added as the enquiry continued. At the top of his list he had written ‘Unknown female, aged 20+? NAME? Who is she? Priority!’ Next he had written the names of the golfers who had found her body, Arthur Hayden and David Jeffers. Although they had been initially interviewed by the responding officers, Balderstone and Edgeley, Yarrow wanted to interview them again, try to prise out more detail, carry out background checks as either one or both could be the killer or killers.
