Three days later.
Clara’s phone buzzed nonstop while she folded laundry inside her tiny apartment.
Lily’s name flashed across the screen.
The moment Clara answered, screaming exploded through the speaker.
“CHECK YOUR EMAIL RIGHT NOW!”
Clara nearly dropped her phone. “What happened?!”
“JUST LOOK!”
Confused, Clara quickly opened her inbox.
Her breath stopped.

Her hands shook as she opened the email.
We are pleased to inform you that you have been selected for the Beaumont Enterprises Internship Program.
Clara covered her mouth instantly.
“Oh my God…”
“You got in too?!” Lily screamed.
“Yes!”
Both girls started yelling at the same time.
After months of struggling financially and endless rejections, this finally felt like hope.

Lily sounded close to tears. “We’re literally going to work for billionaires.”
Clara laughed. “As interns.”

Another message suddenly appeared on Clara’s phone.

Told you you’d survive.
Her brows furrowed instantly.

Then realization hit.
The stranger from the interview.
Before Clara could reply, another message came.
Celebration tonight?
Lily already said yes.
Clara blinked in disbelief.
How did he even get Lily’s number?
Almost immediately, Lily texted separately:

Clara laughed despite herself.
Maybe one celebration night wouldn’t hurt.
