Chapter 3 — Let’s Celebrate By nightfall, New York glittered with endless city lights and speeding traffic. Clara adjusted the sleeve of her black dress nervously while standing beside Lily outside an expensive-looking building in Manhattan. Above the entrance, elegant silver letters glowed against the dark walls. VELVET ROOM One of the most exclusive private clubs in the city. Luxury cars lined the street while sharply dressed security guards stood at the entrance. Clara stared upward. “There’s no way we’re getting in.” “Relax,” Lily said confidently. “Mr. Mysterious said he has connections.” As if summoned, a sleek black car pulled up beside them. Pierce stepped out wearing a perfectly fitted black suit. Tonight, he somehow looked even more attractive. Lily nearly forgot how to breathe. He approached calmly. “You came.” Clara crossed her arms lightly. “You still haven’t told us your full name.” He looked amused. “Pierce.” “Just Pierce?” “For now.” Typical mysterious rich-boy behavior. Before Clara could question him further, one of the security guards immediately stepped aside and opened the doors for Pierce. No ID check. No waiting. The guards even nodded respectfully at him. Lily’s jaw dropped. Clara looked at Pierce suspiciously. “What exactly do you do?” He smirked faintly. “I told you. Connections.” Inside, the club was breathtaking. Dark velvet interiors. Gold lighting. Crystal chandeliers hanging above crowded dance floors. Private VIP balconies overlooked the entire club while celebrities, wealthy businessmen, and models filled the luxurious space. Everything smelled expensive. Clara suddenly felt very aware of how ordinary she was. Meanwhile, Pierce looked completely comfortable here. Like he belonged in this world. As they settled into a private booth, Lily leaned closer excitedly. “You know the craziest rumor about this place?” Clara sighed playfully. “What now?” Lily lowered her voice dramatically. “They say the Beaumont CEO comes here sometimes.” Pierce quietly lifted his drink. No reaction. Lily continued: “Apparently he’s ridiculously handsome… but terrifying.” Clara rolled her eyes. “You believe everything online.” Then suddenly… the atmosphere inside the club shifted. Conversations lowered. Several women turned toward the private entrance instantly. Even security straightened. Clara frowned slightly. Someone important had arrived. Pierce glanced toward the entrance… and smiled faintly.
