CHAPTER 9 Sam floated in a warm, comfortable haze, caught somewhere between waking and dreams. There were reasons to get up, get going, but she couldn’t remember them at the moment. All she wanted was to stay in this fantasy that she wasn’t alone, that it wasn’t a body pillow she was wrapped around, and it wasn’t the sheets she clutched in her hand. Her heart didn’t hurt here, and that rare state of affairs deserved to be savored. The pillow moved.
