BELLA The piercing ring of my alarm jolted me out of sleep. I groaned, the sound dragging from my throat as I rolled onto my back, eyes fluttering open. For a moment, I just lay there, blinking at the ceiling while reality slowly settled in. Then, as if on instinct, I turned to the left side of the bed and peeked over. Empty. Alex was gone. I let out a breath I hadn’t realized I was holding. At least I wouldn’t have to face him. But the peace was short-lived. I can’t believe I slept with him again.
