“Did you want to watch a movie or something or are you ready for bed?” David hoped she wanted to hang out a bit, but understood if she’d rather not.
She shrugged and laughed. “Both?”
“That could be arranged.” He said jokingly. With a laugh, he locked the door and turned off the lights to head upstairs as well.
“I need to shower, but okay.” He heard her say.
His first thought was it was a good thing the lights were out because he felt his eyes pop open and his jaw drop. “What?”
“Let’s watch a movie upstairs.” Chloe said way more casually than he felt.
“Umm,” he swallowed, trying to be calm, “okay.”
“You get it set up. I’ll shower real quick.” She walked up the stairs and went into her room, and David went into his own.
