A rustling of the leaves behind us startles us and we're immediately on high alert.
'We need to go, now.' Alex sends down the mind link, 'I smell others nearby'. We let go off each other and take off, I shift into my wolf form and sprint off with my love on my back. As we head back deeper into the forest, I smell the enemies as well. There must be at least four. I mind link the pack warriors to let them know. This should give me enough time to get Diana back home safely.
As she holds on tight to Rhys' fur, tingles spread all around my body. I notice Rhys becoming wilder and wilder. His heart rate keeps rising and I keep having to calm him down. I'm praying for him not to do anything stupid. On our flanks, Alex and Daniel have joined our sprint home.
