CHAPTER EIGHT Carly tried not to get her hopes up as Lyle pulled the car to the curb in front of the Verdana Hotel. While Barry Coddington might well be the murderer, she knew it would be an extraordinary stroke of luck to wrap up the case so quickly. The Verdana Hotel was a majestic, palatial Victorian building that dominated the area, complete with battlements and turret roofs. As Carly and Lyle got out of the car, Detective Brown parked right behind them.
