Justin The cancer of hate was growing inside me. My blood boiled with the need for revenge. Sean would be his own undoing, but I was more than willing to help. His endless provocations burned holes through my self-control. He had shown me, time and again, that he would never stand by my side. And when I became king, he would be the first to go. I was still seething when I heard Marissa’s calm voice followed by Sean’s grating laughter. The sound made my jaw clench. I hated that my protective instinct toward Marissa had grown into something more possessive. But I couldn't stop it. I moved to the doorway and leaned against the frame, keeping myself hidden from their view. She was handling him beautifully. I watched, silent and struck, as she shredded him with nothing more than her wit.
