THE BOSS'S OFFER

*CHAPTER 16: THE BOSS'S OFFER The morning after I found Sipho inside my sister, I didn't cry. I dressed to kill. Tight black skirt. White shirt opened just enough. Hair slicked back. Red lipstick. My GENERAL MANAGER badge shining like a weapon. When I walked into the lobby, Sipho choked on his coffee. "Nandi -" "Mr. Dlamini," I cut him, voice sweet but deadly. "You left something in Room 302. My sister's earring. And your dignity." Zama appeared behind him, trying to hide behind him like a child. Her neck full of marks I KNEW Sipho made. Marks that used to be mine. "How could you?" I whispered to her, but loud enough for the cleaners to hear. "In MY hotel? Where I clean sheets? You let him... while I'm carrying his child?" Zama burst into tears. "He said you were cold! He said you only cared about work!" Sipho slammed his hand on the counter. "Enough! Nandi, you are embarrassing us!" "I'm embarrassing YOU?" I laughed, tears burning now. "You are in my hotel, with my sister, and you think I am the embarrassment?" That's when his cologne hit me. Liam Khumalo's cologne. Rich, dark, expensive. "Is there a problem in my lobby, Miss Imani?" Everyone froze. Liam Khumalo. Owner. Billionaire. In a black suit that cost more than my salary for a year. He looked at Sipho, then at Zama, then his eyes locked on mine. Slowly, down my lipstick, my chest heaving with anger, my skirt. "Mr. Dlamini is checking out," I said, voice shaking. Liam stepped between me and Sipho. So close I could feel the heat from his chest. He is 6'4". Sipho looked small next to him. "Mr. Dlamini," Liam said calmly, too calmly. "You are banned from all Skyline properties. For disrespecting my General Manager." Sipho's jaw dropped. "You can't - my company -" "I can. I own it." He grabbed my elbow. His hand was large, warm, firm. "My office. NOW, Imani." In his office, he locked the door. The whole city of Durban behind us. "You're pregnant," he said. Not a question. My hand flew to my stomach. "How -" "I know everything about my staff. 8 weeks. Father is a bastard who cheated with your sister. You need protection." He walked to me. Backed me against his glass desk. He wasn't touching me, but he was everywhere. "I need a wife," he whispered, eyes on my lips. "Contract. 5 million. My mother is dying, she wants to see me married. You need a father for that baby and revenge that will make your sister cry for a year." "Why me?" My voice was a whisper now. "Because," he leaned in, his mouth inches from my ear, "you look at me like you hate me, not like you want my money. That turns me on more than any woman begging on her knees." My breath hitched. He continued, "And because when I saw you in that lobby, looking like a goddess ready to kill... I thought, this woman deserves to watch her ex beg at her wedding to another man." My phone buzzed again. Sipho: _My mother says if it's a boy we will take it from you._ Rage. Pure rage. I grabbed Liam's tie and pulled him to me. "Does this contract... include sharing a bed?" Liam's eyes darkened. He smirked. "That, Mrs. Khumalo-to-be... is negotiable." *TO BE CONTINUED... WILL NANDI SAY YES? WHAT WILL SIPHO DO WHEN HE SEES NANDI KISS LIAM?*
