Hazel’s POV My heart pounded in my chest, each beat echoing in my ears as I stared at Calix, his words cutting into me like sharp blades. Words I want to throw at his face like the blow he just gave Dylan. “You’re still mine.” I wanted to scream that he was wrong, that I wasn’t his and never would be again. But the words were trapped, tangled in the knot of fear and confusion building inside me.
