Alpha Barton, or maybe just Barton now, he wasn't really sure, trudged alongside the carriage, starting to grow sick of the sounds from within. Alpha Peter had told him something has gone wrong with their last Alpha - he had merged with his pack, but one member wasn't present, and when he shifted, he'd gone insane, and his former pack members were comatose. At first, Barton had felt empathetic, but after days of hearing the rabid beast, it was getting difficult to feel sympathy. Not sleeping for the howling had that effect.
