Luca paced in his room, anxiously starting at the clock. 11:30pm - it was time. He left the balcony door of his room open; he would want an entry point once he had shifted, but he wanted to shift outside. His wolf would like nature and the cover of the woods, he was sure. Luca jogged from the main entrance out into the woods. Elsie waved from the drawing room for as he passed, looking hopeful. Once in the cover of trees, Luca stripped anxiously waiting and looking at his watch. At midnight he felt nothing. Luca felt the bite of panic, then, as another 2 minutes ticked by, hysteria. What was happening, he was born at the stroke of midnight, it had been an anecdote told at countless family gatherings. Where was his wolf, his other half?
