Luca ran alongside Alpha Marco, ensuring Summer was steady on him. Marco was the ideal first choice, since he was most in tune with his wolf. Newest to his wolf form, Luca could not reliably carry Summer on his back, but he could see Alpha Marco was tiring, and was less able to keep her from slipping off his back. In addition, Summer's cries of agony has not stopped the whole time, in fact they were becoming more frequent, more urgent. She alternately groaned, moaned, grunted, cried and roared her pain out.
