Chapter 6: The Hunt

1070 Words
Alpha Marco bounded after Summer, using his hands like front paws to leap over obstacles. He was toying with her - he was faster than her, but chasing her like this was thrilling for them all - humans and wolves. He growled hungrily, whenever he got near enough, he'd touch her - her behind, her hip. They were growing too near other wolves, so Alpha Marco put on a burst of speed, steering his prey back into the denser forest. She gasped in her desperation to escape him - thrilling though it was, this wasn't play for Summer. An Alpha had her pinned and alone. Alpha Marco paused a moment, letting her gain some distance. Truly, he wanted her willing. Summer's next cry was a more genuine panic. The clearing was startlingly bright after the dense forest, and Alpha Marco broke through the bushes to see her frozen. The massive bear, easily twice the size of Marco's wolf towered over her. Marco's canines and claws lengthened. He didn't shift - he didn't need to, his wolf was with him, present always. They were one. The impact of his body on the bear took is attention entirely from Summer, and she retreated back into the cover. She couldn't tear her eyes from the fight, however. The Alpha was thrown from the bear and fell into a barrel roll, before springing to his feet again. This time he judged his angle better and grappled the bear from behind. The roar of the beast was a mixture of frustration and rage as he ineffectually tried to dislodge his unwelcome rider. For several minutes the two battled this way, then the bear spotted Summer again. It lumbered towards her, and as it neared her the bear stretched its neck to roar again. Alpha Marco sank teeth and claw into its neck, ripping and tearing until only the momentum carried the pair forward. The bear fell, lifeless at Summer's feet. Alpha Marco claimed the tag from its ear - a golden mark, which he quickly pocketed, and slipped from the beast. "Summer, did it harm you?" It was the first time he had uttered her name. His expression was concerned, not lustful, and she watched. He'd been enjoying the battle, only when Summer was threatened did he decide to end it. Summer shook her head, "I'm fine. Thank you - I think only an Alpha could've taken him." Alpha Marco crossed the distance around the bear to her and his hand pressed against her bare chest. In that moment, it hit full force. It was raw, all consuming. The primal bloodlust, enhanced by the kill, their chase, his desire for her. The power of it magnetised Summer and her wolf. She whined with need. This time, when Summer's claws broke Alpha Marco's skin, it was her passion pulling him to her. Their lips met and his arms encircled her, gripping her behind through the tight leather shorts. He could smell her - this time that sweet scent of her arousal was for him. He growled with lust and she whimpered with desire. Never had Summer been so at one with her wolf. The feeling was incredible. She could feel Alpha Marco and his wolf also - everywhere he touched sent her wolf howling internally. She wasn't aware of him making her with as much of his scent as possible - but his lips moved from hers to her neck. Summer tensed. He could not mark her, she wasn't his. He held back from this though - in truth he was holding back a lot. The scent of her, her willingness, her passion, and the primal connection to the earth, the moon, their core when they touched was earth shattering. Alpha Marco feel too his knees before her, rubbing his face against her groin, scenting her, trying to preserve that scent on him. He reached up to the hem of her shorts, and her breath hitched, but she pushed him away. Without the skin contact some of Summer's sense had returned. She stepped back from him, suddenly fearful of how her father and the other Alpha's would react to her smelling so strongly of him. "No, Alpha Marco, not yet." Her phrasing surprised her, but he was pleased by it. A promise for the future. He pulled her back in to kiss her again, this time with a little more restraint. His fingers lightly traced her torso, touching bare skin, and when she didn't object to that, cupping one breast, feeling it's weight, and squeezing it gently. Summer gasped at the touch, but didn't stop him. When they were touching, all she and her wolf wanted was more. Summer tried to catch her breath, but this time it was Marco who broke the contact. He stepped back from her, then took her hand entwining his fingers with hers romantically. His voice was husky, thick with lust and longing, but it was sincere, "I'll have you, Summer. I'll worship at your altar and we will be Gods amongst the wolves. You have no idea yet, what you are, what this means, but when you do, you'll choose us, you have to. I've felt the fated mate bond, and I've lost a mate. You are so much more than that." Alpha Marco began the trek out of the woods, his fingers entwined with Summer's. His scent was strong on her, and her's on him, and it pleased him immensely. Yesterday had been torture, scenting her arousal for Barton. Seeing them kissing had made him see red, he was ready to tear the other Alpha apart. As Summer picked her path through the dense forest, she marvelled at how, just hours ago, she'd been running from Marco, fleeing his passion and intensity. A twinge of guilt hit her as she thought of his hand on her. If given only a few more moments, a similar touch would've occurred with Alpha Barton. It was hard to remember that electric energy when her fingers touched Marco's. Marco's gaze was heavy on her, studying her breasts and recalling their weight in his hand. Glancing at her rear and recalling the feel of it in his hands. In moments they would emerge from the forest, the hunt tallies would be taken, and gone would be the chance of her kisses. Still, he had tasted her willingly, and it left him ravenous for more.
