Prologue

I never thought I’d leave the world like this. I thought it'd be something expected, like natural causes, or even a common accident. But, some part inside me felt like there was no better place to die than the ocean, since it's after all what I consider my second home. I remember the start of the incident. There was a storm and it was really bumpy from the wind. I remember the way my heart was pounding hard against my ribs, and my insides felt just like those times I got on a roller coaster during the whole thing until we crashed into the water. I remember the panicked and fearful cries and shrieks around me. I think I remember that I was one of them, even letting out tears of fright. We were fully submerged and were slowly sinking. Then I was covered in water. The screams became more loud and frantic. I have some fragments of an attack after that, and the next thing I knew I was in the open water. I think I swam out. Couldn’t make my head try to remember clearly. I’m sure I banged my head hard on something during the disaster and now I couldn’t think straight. The water was freezing, though it didn’t bother me as I was accustomed to it from the times I spent in the ocean on a regular basis. It's pitch dark, but the full glowing white moon was able to penetrate it with its rays. I was able to see shapes moving from where I was under the water and even felt them moving. My mind didn’t feel like processing on what they could be. That was until I felt for certain the strong hands that tightly grasped me with their sharp nails digging into my skin threatening to pierce me. Those pair of hands held onto my shoulders and dragged me deeper into the water. Then more hands held onto my arms and legs. I could feel them as they dragged me down and clawing me deeply, letting my blood spill out. I barely registered the sharp pain as the cold water numbed the wounds. With the blood loss and the burning pressure of air running out from my lungs, I started to feel light-headed and my eyes felt heavy. Blackness was about take me when those hands suddenly left. The last thing I felt was a different pair of hands. They were gentle and brought no pain as they dragged me away.
