Tarkyn beamed. “Hello everyone. I am so glad to see you all. I’m sorry if I worried you. I got lost, you see. I fell over a ledge and when I came to, I didn’t realise I wasn’t on the same path.” He looked around. “Where’s Waterstone? Waterstone, I know I didn’t have my shield up when you arrived but I promise you I had it up for a long time until I was completely sure they were safe.” He told them about his machinations with the two shields just to reach his cup of tea.
