Weeks pass by, Jessica and Jason are spending more time together. Jessica is sitting at her desk at work and reminiscing about the last date she had with Jason. A feeling of guilt comes over her "I wonder how Roger is doing? Stop Jessica, you had to get away, the feeling of danger was sexy in the beginning but it got too real too quick, with Jason I feel safe and I enjoy spending time with him." Jessica's thoughts are interrupted by the sound of her phone ringing, it's Jason "Hey, how is your day going?" "My day is as good as it can go for an office worker. not as exciting as a detective's day can get." "My day is giving me headaches, this case is running into a wall." "I'm sorry to hear that." Jessica is a bit relieved, thinking this might stop the investigation and she and Jason won't have to talk about it again. "You think we can hang out tonight?" "Yes, sure, I look forward to it." "pick you up at 7"
It's evening and Jessica is getting ready for her evening out with Jason, she is sitting at her dressing table staring in the mirror while combing her hair. There is a knock on the door, Jessica gets excited and runs to the door with a smile on her face, she shouts out loud while the door is still closed. " You're early, I'm not even dressed." Jessica opens the door to find roger standing at the door, Jessica has a surprised look on her face "What are you doing here Roger?" "Can I come inside? I'd like to talk to you and you are not responding to my messages or answering my calls." Jessica clearly looks frustrated "You can't I'm about to leave, I'm just getting ready." "I really miss you, Jessica, these last few months have been hell, I can't eat or sleep and I see you wherever I go. What can I do to convince you that we are meant to be together." Jessica looks around her, she cant look Roger in the eyes, she knows if he looked into her eyes he would know that she still loves him and he wouldn't give up on trying to win her heart." "Roger, we are not meant to be, I can't be with you. Our lives are too different and I know that you say you can control the monster that's." inside you but I always feel like something could happen and you would hurt me or worse." I would never hurt you Jessica even in my wolf form, my love for you is still there and I would do everything to protect you." " I need to go, Roger, it's getting late and I need to get dressed." Jessica tried to close the door but Roger holds the door open. " I know you have been spending time with the policemen, but I know you still love me Jessica and he is just a distraction from what you are really feeling, just be honest with yourself." Jessica tries not to look into Rogers's eyes, but he puts his hand under her chin and lifts her head up to look into her eyes. Jessica can feel her heart raising and her knees get weak. Roger smiles as he looks at her, and pulls her closer for a kiss, just as their lips are about to touch Jessica pulls away. " No Roger we can't, please leave." Jessica turn's her back on Roger and waits for him to leave. Roger walks away, down the passageway towards the elevator.
Roger pushes the button for the ground floor and waits for the elevator, the elevator arrives and opens up, Jason is standing in the elevator with a single rose about to get out, he bumps shoulders with Roger "Sorry." Roger looks at Jason from head to toe, just smiles "No Problem." and steps into the elevator as Jason steps out. Roger pushes the ground floor button and the elevator closes. Jason walks up to Jessica's apartment and knocks on the door. Jessica opens the door wildly with a stern look on her face, she smiles when she sees it's Jason. "Hi did you think I was someone else?" "No I just had an unpleasant conversation with someone else, is that for me?" she looks at the rose in his hand. "Oh yes sorry." Jason hands over the rose. " Thank you, it's beautiful, come inside sorry I'm running a bit late, I'll be ready in a minute." Jason makes himself comfortable on a couch and waits for Jessica. Jessica is in her bedroom to find a pair of shoes that matches the short white dress she is wearing, she goes for her red stiletto and red earrings. Jessica steps out of her bedroom, Jason jumps up from the couch "You look gorgeous, so where should we go." " I feel like doing a bar hop tonight, lets go to Long street and see where the night takes us." "That sounds like a plan."
Jason and Jessica make their way down to Long street from Jessica's apartment in the city center. They head into the first bar and grab a few drinks and start drinking and dancing. The night goes on and they move from bar to bar down the famous party street, they are having the time of their lives. Jessica and Jason make their way back to Jessica's apartment, they are outside her door and Jason pulls her in for a kiss. The kiss lingers and becomes more and more passionate, Jason's hands move down her back and he rubs he embraces her tightly. As she is kissing Jason her mind flashes to Roger and the moment they almost kissed. She pulls away from Jason. "Is something wrong?" "No, I'm just not feeling well, can we call it a night?" "Yes sure, I'll call you tomorrow?" Jessica kisses Jason one more time and steps into her apartment."
Jason gets home, it's 3 am. He switches on his TV and grabs a juice from the fridge. The case his uncle gave him catches his eye. It's been in the corner of his living room unopened all this time. Jason grabs the case and puts it on his coffee table and opens it. He looks at the large crossbow on the there side of the case there is a row of long silver arrows strapped to the inside of the top of the case. There could be 20 arrows as well as a modern-looking quiver in which to carry the arrows. Jason lifts the crossbow and under it is a box, he opens the box to find a chain with an arrow pendant and letter. Jason reads the letter it's from his father addressed to him:
MY SON, I'M WRITING THIS LETTER IN THE EVENT THAT I AM NOT ABLE TO SHARE THIS MOMENT WITH YOU MYSELF. AT THE TIME OF ME WRITING THIS LETTER YOU ARE TOO YOUNG TO UNDERSTAND BUT ONE-DAY YOU WILL BE MATURE ENOUGH. YOU COME FROM A LONG LINE OF HUNTERS, WE HUNT THE UNNATURAL, MONSTERS OF THIS WORLD WHO LIVE TO KILL AND EAT HUMANS. MY BROTHER AND I LIVED THIS LIFE, WHICH WAS PASSED ON FROM OUR FATHER WHO INHERITED THE CALLING FROM HIS FATHER BEFORE THAT. IN THIS BOX IS A CHAIN WITH AN ARROW PENDANT, THIS PENDANT WILL HELP YOU LOCATE THOSE MONSTERS WHO HIDE IN PLAIN SIGHT, IT WILL GLOW WHEN YOU ARE IN THE PRESENCE OF THE UNNATURAL BUT BEWARE WHEN YOU BECOME AWARE OF THEM THEY WILL BECOME AWARE OF YOU. I HOPE YOU WILL EMBRACE THIS IMPORTANT CALLING AS YOUR FOREFATHERS HAVE BEFORE YOU. YOU ARE NOT JUST A NORMAL MAN, YOU ARE JASON SILVERMAN AND YOU HAVE BEEN CALLED TO HUNT THE UNNATURAL AND SEND THEM BACK TO HELL WHERE THEY BELONG!
