ETHAN POV
Ethan's eyes snapped open, and he jolted upright in bed, his heart racing. "What the...?" he muttered, still trying to catch his breath. It was just a dream, he told himself. But the image of the dark, tall figure with bluish-green eyes and protruding teeth lingered in his mind. He rubbed his temples, trying to shake off the vivid memory.
As he looked around the room, he realized he was in his own bed, not the hospital. "How did I get back home?" he wondered. He grabbed his phone to check the time and saw that it was 4:00 pm. He also noticed five missed calls from his friends. "My head hurts," he said, getting up from bed and heading towards the mirror.
He noticed a slight change in his appearance – his hair was darker, and he had a more attractive physique. But what caught his attention was the bite mark on his arm from the previous night. It was gone! An unsettling feeling arose, and Ethan tried to brush it off. He went to the bathroom to wash his face and arms, feeling like he was still in a dream.
As he looked in the mirror, he noticed something strange – his eyes were glowing. "What the...?" he gasped. He splashed water on his face, trying to stay calm. "What's happening to me?" he thought, trying to shake off the feeling of unease. He took deep breaths and reassured himself that everything would be fine.
Ethan went back to bed, locked the doors, and tried to sleep. But his mind was racing with questions. What was happening to him? Why was he experiencing these strange symptoms? He felt like he was losing control, and it scared him.
The next morning, Ethan woke up to an eerie silence. He rubbed his eyes, trying to shake off the vivid dreams that lingered in his mind. As he got out of bed, he noticed his journal lying open on the floor. The last entry he made was about the strange sensations and urges he'd been experiencing. He picked up the journal and began writing: "Last night was different. I felt it inside me, clawing to get out. I'm scared of what I might become."
As he wrote, he noticed a sentence scribbled in the margin, but he had no recollection of writing it: "They're coming for me." A shiver ran down his spine. Who was he talking about? And what did they want? Ethan's mind was a jumble of questions, but he had no answers.
He tossed the journal aside and got dressed, trying to shake off the feeling of unease. But as he looked in the mirror, he noticed something that made his blood run cold: A message was scrawled on the glass: "You're not alone." The handwriting wasn't his, but it seemed... familiar.
Ethan's heart racing, he spun around the room, wondering if someone had been in his room while he slept. But he was alone. The message seemed to seep into his bones, filling him with dread. Who was watching him? And what did they know about his condition?
Just then, his phone buzzed. He hesitated before answering, his mind racing with worst-case scenarios. "Hello?" he said, trying to sound calm.
"Ethan, it's Dr. Lee," the voice on the other end said. "I need to see you today. We need to discuss your... condition." Ethan's grip on the phone tightened. What did Dr. Lee know? And what did he plan to do with that knowledge?
"I'll be there," Ethan said, trying to keep his voice steady. As he hung up, he felt a presence behind him. He turned, but there was no one there. The room seemed to be closing in on him, the shadows cast by the morning light twisting into menacing shapes.
Ethan took a deep breath and tried to calm himself down. He had to get to the bottom of this. He had to know what was happening to him. But as he turned to leave, he caught a glimpse of himself in the mirror. For a split second, his eyes seemed to gleam with an otherworldly intensity. And then it was gone.
But the question lingered: What was he becoming?
As he walked out of his room, Ethan couldn't shake off the feeling that he was being watched. He looked around, but there was no one there. The silence was oppressive, and the shadows seemed to move of their own accord.
He knew he had to see Dr. Lee and get some answers. But what if the doctor couldn't help him? What if Ethan was beyond help? The thought sent a chill down his spine.
Ethan's heart was racing as he walked out of his house. He didn't know what the future held, but he was determined to face it head-on. He would get to the bottom of the mystery.
