Chapter 12- Waking up

Something has to change. running through the forest again, over the log through the twin pines under the rock ledge, always running. my once white paws are covered brown and the fur is mated and in knots. why am i always running, then i stop only to see her. Before i can reach her it always dissolves into me in Sadie's form laying on the forest floor when we feel a pull to the cliffs again. who is she, what does she mean to me, why is it a woman?

"What the hell happened?" roared the alpha king Samuel. "you were assigned to protect her!" how is she here if she was supposed to be looked after?" 

'"explain yourself warrior"  his voice climbing and the alpha commands seeping though, Bruce shifted his gaze to the floor from Sarah's sleeping form on the bed. "she was dancing with the Devoreaux brothers", they were becoming to affectionate so i intervened. The oldest Brother Raegan challenged me, Sarah stepped in front when he lunged, so i pushed her away with too much force" 

"Bruce" the Luna Serena's voice sang "you know of the traditions of the court on princesses, why are you making such a fuss of her affections for others? She will go through the tradition and you will be able to have a chance, however not before then. She is not yours." the finality in her tone had Bruce turning and leaving swiftly. 

Growling out " She WILL BE". the others said nothing has he disappeared down the corridor.

Shifting in the bed i moaned an ow softly. seconds later a hand was in mine and soft shushes from my mother had me fluttering my eyes open.

 " Dim the light please" i whimpered out as the lights were blinding me. after a few seconds my eyes adjusted to the room, i blinked slowly taking in my parents at my bedside, Sophie curled up in the bay window with Max and Millie and a pallet made on the floor. all stared back at me in concern when i smiled giving a princess like wave.

 " Hey guys sure y'all can all crash in my room, its not like y'all need permission or anything" d**k-weeds i mumbled " Sarah if you didn't have a concussion already id smack your head for the rudeness but im relieved to see that you are indeed yourself" Mom slid her fingers over my cheek in affection and as if she was checking to make sure i was still alive. 

"So, how long have i been out and what did i miss?" i asked tentatively " you been out 10 years and we all have kids now plus Max is actually a human female" Millie piped up running over to my bed. laughing i hugged her neck, "glad he finally found himself or herself" i countered knowing i could rile him up. 

" What Millie meant to say was you where out for most of the day and its almost midnight now." Basically you missed a whole day of angry parents and scolded wolves" came Sophie's sleepy reply from the window. sometimes i really did thank the moon i had her. i motioned for her to come to me and she bounced from the window to me and into the bed. dad scolded her for the motion and i just wrapped her tight.

 " im fine daddy, i could run a marathon if i wanted' 'SPEAK FOR YOURSELF IM POOPED, THIS RUNNING THROUGH YOUR DREAMS WAS PESKY BUSINESS' ' oh Sadie! so glad to hear your voice, rest now ive got this, her yawn was answer enough as i went back to admiring my loved ones. Still my thoughts kept going back to the girl in my dreams.

After a long debate from my parents they finally allowed Sophie,Millie and Max to stay with me, i wasn't tired just sore. after they had fallen asleep i slowly crept from the bed over Millie and Max sleeping on the floor to the bathroom for a much needed shower. Stepping into the hot water i started to wash my hair when i felt a strike of pain to my head. pulling my hand away wincing at the spot, small streaks of blood ran down my shoulder to the tile. 

Bracing my hand on the wall feeling myself swaying, hands slid around my body stilling me. Max stood on the other side of me fully clothed and holding me up. i looked up at him and his eyes where closed, his head tilted up to the ceiling. i giggled at his posture, " Max you've seen me naked plenty dork, what the difference now?" still keeping a hold on me and eyes closed " That was before it mattered" crooking my head at him " Max what the hell are you talking about?" 

Sighing he removed his shirt and pants throwing them to the floor outside the running water. Standing in his boxers eyes still closed he shifted my body so i had my back braced to him, "Sarah" he murmured against my neck, shivers involuntarily ran down my spine. The way he said my name had me feeling hot and bothered. 

" that was before you were a fully formed goddess in the flesh, before i grew up to know the difference" i was speechless, i racked my brain to come up with a response only for me to draw a blank. his hands began to slid in my hair as he continued to gently rinse me off, taking care to not touch my wound. his hands reached out for my Cherry Merlot body wash and poured it into his hands, sliding them down my body every nerve on fire as his fingers danced over my most forbidden places. "Max" i breathed out his name almost a whisper as his thumbs dipped over my n*****s. instinctively my hips pushed backwards into his pelvis, the groan he let slip had me blushing. Im tired of getting worked up and getting shut down by someone coming in or pulling away.  'TOMORROW WE WILL FIGURE OUT WHAT THE HELL EVERYONE KEEPS TALKING ABOUT WINNING ME' agreed. quietly exiting the bathroom and climbing in bed after i had slipped on a new t shirt and shorts i feel asleep shortly listening to the soft snored from Max, Millie and Sophie.
