“Ms. Mariota?” Matthew called out. “Yes Mat, I can call you Mat right?” he nodded. “Then call me Mari or even M as Gaby calls me.” She smiled widely when mentioning Gaby. ‘Are these two a couple or something?’ I wondered. “OK Mari, are you officer Norman’s girlfriend?” he asked. She cracked a loud laugh shaking her head. “What? No! We are not. He is more like a big brother to me.” She answered. “What do you mean more like? Aren’t you related?” I like this boy, he was asking the questions I would have asked. “No we are not related. Like I said before, my family was massacred by the drug lords.
