Chapter 42: Violet's POV
I left my parents feeling even worse than I did when I went to them. After my father's uproar, I couldn't even speak to my mother about the status I had been elevated to. I couldn't even ask her anything because I knew what she would say.
She would want me to use it to free them. But how?
How could I convince Axel to free my parents when he barely even spoke to me?
It wasn't as if he were in love with me or something. I didn't even know why he elevated my status. The widow made it seem like s*x was the tool I had on Axel but after the first time, he had barely even looked at me.
I was so enveloped with my thoughts that I almost walked past Hilda, who had remained by the door, waiting for me.
