4|FIRST DAY OF WORK

The moment he turned, I was shocked at what I saw and stood rooted to where I stood staring at him and then it dawned on me that, MY ONE NIGHT STAND, I TAUGHT I WOULD NOT SEE AGAIN WAS NO ONE BUT MY BOSS.

"Why are you staring at me and who are you". With just that sentence I felt my whole world crumble down". That means he does not remember me.

" Sorry Mr Santos, I am your new secretary"."Oh okay" he said with a clenched face, taking a file from his desk.

He looked so angry for a reason I did not know. I immediately felt right away he did not like me."Ms......". "Andrea sir"."Ok Ms Andrea, I have just sent my schedule for today, pictures and names of my clients to you and you must memorize them", he answered sternly .

"Is that all, Mr Santos"."Yes, you can leave".

I felt a burning gaze at my back leaving his office and I knew it was no one else but my boss. The moment I entered my office, I released a breath I did not know I had.. He does not remember me and that hurts.I also feel he does not like me for some reason I do not know.

I signed into the secretary's personal email account created by the company and memorized the email sent by Mr Santos to me. And I do not want to do anything that would make him hate me more than he does.

An hour later, I was done memorizing what Mr Santos sent me and searched for him on Google and noticed he was listed as the second top billionaire in America on Fobbs and, inherited the company from his father almost at the verge of bankruptcy and built it from scratch to now an empire all within six years.

I saw an incoming call from the office phone.

"Hello Ms Andrea. Could you come to my office and get the contract? I would like you to go through it since it will be signed tomorrow during the meeting and also update me about my schedule for today".

" OK sir, I am on my way". " After the call, I became nervous since I would have to be in his presence.

" Come in, I heard".

This is the contract and you must go through it today to make sure there are no problems for tomorrow and you also have my schedule, so you will see the exact time I need it ready and, since you are my secretary, you need to be present to jot down important details said at the meeting.

" OK sir"." What's my schedule this morning?" he asked.

"Mr Santos, you have an 11 o'clock meeting at the Royal lounge, meeting Mr Smith from Smith Construction and also a 3 o'clock meeting in your office with Mr Robbins and that's all for today".

While speaking, I felt his eyes burning holes in my face." OK thank you, you may leave", he dismissed me coldly.

I met Stacy in front of my office.

"Here you are. I came to ask you how your first day of work is going and also I will be here at 12:00 to show you the cafeteria so we can have lunch".

"Thank you very much Stacy"."My pleasure".

I entered my office and immediately set an alarm at 10:30am to remind Mr Santos about his meeting with Mr Smith which would be held at the Royal lounge.

I opened the contract Mr Smith gave me and started listing the most important things in the contract signing for tomorrow at 10am and checking if there was any loosehole in it. I heard the alarm ring after a while "pi..pi..pi..pi". I turned it off and quickly left the office to give him a reminder.

I saw a beautiful brunette come out of his office and I must say she was pretty.

"Who are you",she asked rudely."I am Mr Santos' secretary ",I told her.

"Oh, by the way, I am his fiancee" she said, wickedly scrutinizing me.

I felt my heart break that instant.

"And why is your skirt so tight? she asked.

Looking at someone who said my skirt was tight, she wore a top with her breasts about to spill out and a leather shirt stuck to her skin as if any moment from now it would rip off.

At the exact moment I was about to answer her, Mr Santos came out of his office.

"Tiana, what are you doing here? I thought you left".

"No Arson, I was saying hello to your assistant here" with a sweet voice as if she did not just speak to me rudely and also question my skirt"." OK".He replied.

"Bye" she left.

So his name is Arson and it definitely suited his appearance.

"Sir, I came to inform you that your meeting is in thirty minutes".

" OK".He answered with an angry expression on his face and left. I wondered what I had just done to make him angry.

The moment I entered my office, I placed my head on my desk and cried,. So he had a fiancee and still slept with me. I knew that was not the main reason why I was crying and knew then and there had to burry any emotional attachment I had developed for him.

I went to the washroom and applied makeup so that no one would notice that I was crying. At 12, Stacy came and we went to the cafeteria. On our way I could hear whisperings from people and they were also directly looking at me.

Stacy, why are they looking at me? I asked Stacy.

"Do not mind them, they are just jealous you got the position as secretary for the CeO because they were not accepted.

"Oh okay, I thought I had done something wrong".

The cafeteria was so big I ordered fries and chicken with coke and Stacy also ordered a burger with fries.

"Andrea meet my friends Paul, Logan, Jennifer,Chantelle and Noah."Hi",they choriously said.

"Hi", I answered meekly. We sat by them and they were very welcoming. I was so excited about making new friends.

They spoke to me about a girl called Bella who did not report to work today and how she was so upset about not getting the secretary position. I made a mental note in mind to avoid her, by every means possible, since she would obviously not like me.

Lunch was immediately over. I said good bye to them and returned to my office. I looked up at the clock and it read 1:20pm and could not wait till 4:00pm to get off work.I continued to work on the contract to make sure there were no problems with tomorrow's meeting.

At 2:30pm the alarm rang. I set it up to remind Arson about his 3:00 meeting with Mr Robbins in his office. Yes, I called him Arson. You heard me right and I would only call him when I was alone or else I was sure I would be sacked that instant.I knocked on his door.

"Come in".I heard him.

"Sir, please I came to inform you about your 3:00 meeting with Mr Robbins.

" OK thank you".He replied coldly.

On my way out of his office, I saw him looking at my butt, but I am sure I imagined it.I was a little tired from the day's activity so I made up my mind to sleep for a while, since all my work was done for the day.

I woke up at exactly 4:00pm, which means I slept for a few minutes and that was my queue to leave because my closing time was at 4:00.I packed my things and kept the contract in my bag to review it more at home. I knocked on his door to make sure he did not need me to do anything work related for him.

"You could come in".

"Mr Santos, I wanted to know if you needed me to do anything work related before I go home".

"No, you can go home".He said sternly at that moment.

I was so used to his cold personality he showed me all day.

"Then bye". He did not even reply back.

On my way out, I sent a bye to Stacy and thanked her for today. The instant I got out of Santos and Co, I was so relieved. I walked to the car park and drove home.

I made dinner and ate right away since my stomach was grumbling. I instantly took my shower and went to bed to review the contract for tomorrow. I felt my phone vibrating on my night stand and checked to see who it was.The call was from Kathy and Carol and was a conference call.

"Hi Andrea, how was your first day at work" exclaimed Carol.

"It was good" I answered.

"Is your boss handsome Andrea, how hot is he?".

I then remembered that she was referring to my boss who was no other than my one-nightstand. I immediately had to tell them, since we told each other literally everything.

"You guys remember what happened on Saturday? Right.

 "Yes we do". OK, so my boss turned out to be my one-night stand. "WHAT!!!!"
