Mac is a powerful Salvationist and his service gave rise to remember all we have lost on the path of this great adventure. I would have liked him to conduct our service for those we left at Gallipoli. On that day of remembrance for Anzac the bn. was scattered to the winds on bde. duties and fatigues so officially the only recognition we were permitted was an issue of cake purchased from regtl. funds. Despite this I managed to get together with some of the old hands for about half an hour to remember our lost mates. Over the steady rumble of the guns we said a quick prayer after which we ate our cake and shared stories
