Miles Cheryl marched into my office, laughing—really laughing—her deep, genuine amusement filling the space. Chris was with her, grinning like an i***t. What the hell was he saying to her that was that funny? I clenched my jaw and hissed under my breath, shifting in my chair. Slouching deeper, I let my legs spread, rolling my chair slightly to the side to get a better view of her as she made her way toward me. Her outfit wasn’t helping my mood.
