VA Hospital, Martinez, Staff Meeting—August 20, 2010In the weekly meeting concerning various patients’ progress, most staff members made a few general comments, working quickly through the pile of that week’s folders. They had come to Robbin McKenna’s file, and Dr. Blue had asked Dr. Reed to make a more elaborate report about his rapid and remarkable progress in her occupational therapy program.
“Well, it’s really quite amazing,” Dr. Reed said, shaking her head almost incredulously. “After assessing his skills in our little shop, working with metals, I made arrangements for him to receive some personalized instruction from Sasha Sharp, who comes in once a month from Benicia for a brief group metal-sculpture demonstration—”
