Mia hated what her reaction had betrayed to her crew, hated the looks of concern they’d kept shooting her way, even as she appreciated their willingness to defend. She didn’t want to be seen as weak or broken. She was neither. But she was preoccupied the rest of the day, stewing in anxiety over what to say to Brax. This was her chance to come clean.
