Chapter 9: Part 2

674 Words
i guess you can say I was obsessed with Grant. And it is true, I was. I couldn't understand why my whole family hated him so much. I could see he was misunderstood, just like me. Saturday mornings are busy for my family. its hockey game day, everyone has a game at Griff's icehouse. Naomi 's games were first cause she was in the 123ers, then it was Isaac's and my game. We're in the 49ers, that's 4-8 grade. lastly, it was Jordan's game, he and Sarah were in the 79ers, 9-12 grade. Jeremiah and Jordan play for the public. I remember one Saturday morning, I was in the toy room, minding my business by doing Legos, and here comes Bruce saying, "Leah Grant is going to be there, if you speak to him, we're going to call the police." Out of nowhere! Sometimes I have an early game so I have to go with Bruce. Grampa will be there, I can tell he's my biggest fan, and I'm glad. it makes me feel good that someone cares about me, and I'm talking about truly cares. he wishes me good luck by pretending there's rattling in my stick 🏒. it put a smile on my face in an instant. Grampa gives me the motivation I need every time I'm about to go on ice. I may not be fast as lightning like Jeremiah or Jordan, but I do my best that I can. The fun always ends when we enter Dubbink's house. everyday I lived there it was depressing and sad. I could feel the fun being sucked right out of me. They wake us up at the crack of eight in the morning, even when its the weekend! The only thing we did as a family was eat and pray. All Deb did was play her iPad, and watching TV with the older kids. Even when I don't make trouble, I always end of in trouble for some stupid reason. Sometimes I don't need to be doing anything at all, and the next thing I know I'm getting yelled at, and I have to stand in the corner. It's not the corner that bothers me, just for fun, Deb likes to punch, kick, even slap us, while our denfense is down. Then when we flinch or get startled, she gets pissed. if we stand up to Deb, she cries to her husband, even though she started the whole thing up! I got into it real bad with Deb, and on that night was the worst, she had her husband deal with me, as I was totally weak against him and he enjoyed every inch of it. He had me hold a piece of paper with my nose, He said, "Leah, you are to hold this piece of paper with your nose. If it drops for any reason, I will hit you in the ribcage." I will admit, it didn't take me long to drop that paper. As sweat dribble down my face and i accidentally dropped the paper, he gets straight up and tells me to hold me my hands straight out. I was scared, I pleaded and he did it anyways. I went down gasping for air. All they told me was shut up, stop crying and hold the paper up again. Again,he clashes his fist into my ribcage, causing me to go down again. When they sent us to the main room upstairs, with no pillows or blankets, I tried to stop crying, but I was in to much amount of pain. I couldn't breathe after that for abuse. he didn't do it once, but three times! All while, Deb is just pretending to not see and hear , when in fact she sees and hears it all! SHE IS JUST AS GUILTY! Same thing goes for the cottage, she does the Exact same thing! if you got into the master bedroom, there's a metal pole in the closet. The Dubbinks love to whack three of us kids, Isaac, Lizzy, and myself.
