Chapter 16 Despite standing under the hot spray for at least five minutes, Rory was still shivering. He couldn’t understand what had gone wrong, why Zane was acting so differently. Zane knew Rory wasn’t confident about driving Jimmy’s truck back to the Double J. But instead of taking things easy on the drive back, Zane had seemed in a hurry. Maybe he wanted to see what his new truck could do. They hadn’t even stopped halfway like they had on the journey up to Zane’s parents’. And even worse, when they’d arrived back at the ranch, all Rory had gotten was a “Good ride?” before Zane had picked up his bag and dashed into the bunkhouse without waiting for Rory’s reply.
