My Missing Girl

2. exhausted

It's still early morning, but Alex is getting ready with his thick coat to go downtown. Because the distance from his home to downtown Vancouver takes two hours drive. Therefore Alex left early in the morning before sunrise for fear of being late to meet his friend.

 Before leaving he had prepared everything he needed. He wanted to see his old friend who is now one of the famous surgeons in one of the hospitals in the city center.

"Let's go!!."

Hannah is preparing breakfast for her brother, Adam. Adam was working late last night, so he's still sleeping even though the sun is high. Adam, when he had a pillow, found it hard to wake up, fortunately, Hannah was patient with her twin's behavior.

 Hannah's in college today but in the afternoon. So in the morning, she used to work part-time in one of the hospitals to become an elderly nurse. She can use her salary to meet her daily needs.

"Ad, I have made you breakfast."

Hannah said from behind the door of her brother's room. But Adam didn't reply, she called once again from behind the door "Ad?." But the same result Adam didn't return her calls. Then Hannah walked in without permission to Adam's room. Hannah had to wake up her brother because he had a scheduled for noon. If not reminded and woken up later Adam could wake up too late. Because at noon Hannah couldn't go home because there was a class.

"Adam!." Hannah wakes Adam up while shaking his body.

"Hmm" replied Adam as he did.

"Ad wakes up, I've made you breakfast."

"Yeah."

"Let's get up, you said there was a daytime schedule."

 "Five more minutes Hannah," Adam replied asking Hannah for leniency.

 "It's up to you, I'm just reminding you. Because I'm going to go to work soon and I won't have time to go home because I'm going straight to college and I have classes during the day."

"Yes, I'll be up in ten minutes."

 "Well, I'm leaving first. Don't forget to eat before going to work." Hannah told Adam.

"Hmm, you be careful."

Upon arrival at the hospital, Hannah immediately changed her nurse's clothes and walked to the elderly room where she had to work.

 Today's schedule is knitting with the grandmothers there. Normally Hanna would teach grandmothers to make scarves, but today will make a new look by teaching them to make knitting gloves. Soon winter, besides scarves in winter will need gloves to warm both hands.

 "Good morning, Grandparents." Hannah greets grandparents relaxing in the resting room of an elderly hospital.

 "Good morning Hannah, always you always look beautiful." Say hello to Grandma Maria, one of the residents there who loves Hannah very much.

"Thank you, Grandma Maria."

 "Today the grandmothers will be with me, we will learn to knit gloves today." Said Hannah who was welcomed by the grandmothers. But Hannah's words were protested by the grandfathers.

"Why aren't you with us Hannah?."

 "I'm sorry grandpa because today I teach a knitting class. So if you want to be with me, let's just go to knitting class."

 "I want to play chess with you, Hannah." Said Eric's grandfather.

 Anna laughs at what Eric's grandfather said, then answers his statement. "I'll play chess when I get home from college."

"I don't want to wait for Hannah, I want her now."

 "I can't, Grandpa, if you want to be scolded by Doctor James, I'll consider grandpa's invitation," Hannah said with a little laugh.

 "James? Thank you Hannah I don't want to deal with that mad doctor." Eric's grandfather didn't like James' doctor so he refused to deal with him.

Grandpa James' words were able to invite laughter throughout the room, including irene's nurse who today works alongside Hannah.

"Then I'll play with grandpa after coming home from college, how?."

 "All right, you got to promise me, Hannah?." Eric's grandfather said while sticking his little finger in Hannah's direction to tie the knot between the two.

 "I promise," Hannah replied to Eric's grandfather's request.

 "Hannah?." Call nurse Irene.

"Yes nurse Irene, what's wrong?."

"Are you going to college till tonight?" nurse Irene asked.

 "No, I only go to college until three in the afternoon. Why?."

 "Thankfully, I'd like to ask for help cleaning up the hospital plants. Plants in the garden already look unkempt. Almost a month was not cleaned."

 "How can it be like that? Isn't it that after I've taken care of it there's a new gardener taking care of it?."

 'You're right, but gardeners don't work professionally. That's why the hospital told you to come back to watch the park. Do you mind?."

"No, but you know what my needs?."

"Yes I know, the hospital agreed to increase your salary by twenty percent."

 "Is that true?." Ask Hannah not to believe me.

 "Yaps, of course. Because you're Hope's hospital favorite. So you can be sure you will get a lot of bonuses."

"Thank you very much, nurse Irene."

"Yes, express your gratitude to the director, not with me."

 "Director? You mean Miss Luna?."

"Yaps, she likes your performance so much that she's happy to give you a lot of bonuses."

"Well, I'm so moved, please express my gratitude to Miss Luna."

 "Well I'll tell you later, now you have to get to work. Because in two hours you have to go to your college."

"Okay, nurse Irene."

Hannah was walking in the main corridor of her campus, she had just finished her painting class. Because today the activity is only mixing colors so the lecture is not too long. Usually, a painting class takes more than three hours, but this time it only takes an hour, so Hannah is saving a lot of time for today.

 Before Hannah came home, she stopped by the bakery to buy some bread for Eric's grandfather and the others. Because they like strawberry jam bread so much that Hannah will buy it for them.

 After buying some bread, Hannah went to the bus stop to Hope hospital. He saw his watch when it showed at two noon. The second bus will be here in thirty minutes. And the rest of that time he used to listen to his favorite radio broadcasts. One of his radio announcers, DJ Alex, is his favorite radio announcer.

 Today the broadcast schedule is about love, Hannah knows the information from the official Star FM website. After hearing the news about the theme of today's broadcast Hannah became very excited because it is not usual for DJ Alex to deliver the theme of love. That's why Hannah has to listen. She was already sitting in the bus stop seat, with earphones attached to both ears, shortly after turning on his radio Alex's voice sounded smooth to her ears.

"Hi, star friends, how's life?."

 "I am great," Hannah replied with a mutter.

"Today, I will convey the definition of true love."

 Hannah listened carefully, every verse Alex said Hannah would receive with joy. Alex's smooth and heavy voice can bring tranquility to her heart. Especially when Alex says the word love, Hannah's heart instantly vibrates as if the word love was shown to her. And that is impossible to obtain for sure.

Being too focused on her activities she didn't realize the bus had stopped in front of her.

 "Miss? Are you going to take the bus or not?." Call a teenage boy who's about to take the same bus as Hannah.

 Hannah came out of her world thanks to that boy. she got up from the chair after putting her phone in the bag. Hannah was a little disappointed that she was content to broadcast his radio. So why is the bus coming so fast than usual, it sucks. Because this makes Hannah miss the main part of Alex's radio show. That's what Hannah's waiting for the most.

 "Thanks for reminding me," Hannah said when she crossed paths with the boy who informed her of the bus's arrival.

 "It doesn't matter to me, miss." Hannah simply replied with her simple sweet smile.

               * Hannah arrives at the hospital in good condition. Her mood deteriorated as she missed his beloved radio broadcast. Why is a sophisticated digital area like this, Star FM does not share its live broadcasts for free - Just to be a saved broadcast. So why should it be exclusive like that?

Hannah walks with her frowny face, as well as her footsteps as she squeals at every step of the way in anger.

Because of her annoyance, she hit someone by accident.

 "Aww, I'm sorry," Hannah said when she realized the mistake she made.

 "You're okay?." Ask the person.

"I'm okay, Doctor James."

 "Why do you look moody, if you're okay." Ask Doctor James.

 "I just got a little unlucky today," Hannah said she complained to James' doctor.

"Why?"

 "I missed DJ Alex's last broadcast, hue." Hannah's voice broke instantly, and it made Doctor James close his ears spontaneously.

 "Oh God, I guess what's wrong. Just because not something as ins important as this can make you crazy, Hannah?"

"Doctor James doesn't understand how broken my heart is by missing such a precious broadcast."

"You're overreacting, Hannah, you can listen to the re-broadcast."

 "DJ Alex doesn't have a re-broadcast for his broadcast. That's why I'm going crazy now."

 "What am I supposed to do, Doctor James?." Ask Hannah with her sad voice.

 Doctor James, who has been familiar with Hannah's behavior, prefers to ignore her because Hannah's behavior is beyond human reason. Her love for DJ Alex was crazy according to him because it was limited to ordinary human reason. Hannah is so bigoted about DJ Alex, but what if it's love no one can judge the love.

 It's better  Doctor James distracts Hannah's grief with something else, like "Focus on your goals, Hannah. Do you have an appointment at the hospital?."

 Hannah nodded, then said "I have an appointment to play chess with Eric's grandfather. After that, I have to clean the garden."

"It's good that you know with the job, now do it and stop that stupid attitude."

 Hannah squealed, then was about to step away. But Dr. James's call stopped his move, "Where are you going?."

"Meet Eric's grandfather."

"No need."

 "Didn't you tell me to do my job?" she said she was upset with James' doctor.

"Eric's grandfather is resting, don't bother him."

 "Why haven't you told me !!!." Hannah said with anger. Doctor James just chuckled at Hannah's cries. He does like to tease Hannah because Hannah is easily hooked on her emotions.

"Have dinner with me later, Han."

 "I don't want to, you crazy doctor." Hannah immediately left Jammes' doctor laughing on the spot. James swear this is so exciting. Next time he will shake Hannah again, the young doctor swears at himself.
