~Aria~ The door slams behind us, the echo ricocheting off the stone walls like stuck bell. Kael drops me—not roughly but enough that my pride aches more than my body. My boots scrape against the floor as I steady myself, breath ragged with fury “Why did you stop me?” The words rip out of me, sharp and trembling. “They disrespected me!!” He doesn’t raise his voice. Instead, he stands tall, shoulders squared, calm in the storm of my rage. “And what was your motive Aria?” His tone slices clean through the air. “To kill them—or to scare them? “I wanted to scare them,” I snap. “Make them understand who they were speaking about” Karl’s gaze hardens, voice sharp as steel. “ The arrow would have killed her if I hadn’t stepped in”. The truth burns, and I look away. “Maybe she deserves it”
