Consequences

I wake up in my bed with one of the worst headaches known to man. I touch my cheek to find bandages on it, with a huge bump. Great that will look nice on my face. The door opens to Sierra holding a tray filled with soup and crackers as well as a few pain meds. "Oh! Great you're awake! How are you feeling dear?" she sounds genuinely concerned with my health. "I'm fine, just very sore. How long have I been home?" I say with a jolt of pain surging through my head. Sierra sets the tray of food on my left side of my bed. It certainly smells delicious, but I don't want to eat right now. "You've been home since Friday, it's now Sunday." I must have looked shocked because she immediately tried stating the positive things of this situation. Which is usually her feeling guilty. "Oh don't worry you've been in and out, but Doctor Lisa says you are gonna be okay, you just might have some sever headaches for awhile." She let's the last few words out as if she is being rushed. "Wow, that's not what I expected to hear." Which is true, I thought it had been a few hours. "Well good thing you are awake, we wouldn't want you to miss school would we?" God she makes me sick sometimes with her sweet words. It's nice, but shes too soft. I'm shocked she hasn't been taken advantage of. "But the downside of school is, you will have to serve a week of detention for biting his hand." Now she sounds a bit more serious, but still not enough for this world. "You are one lucky girl, Lilith. His parents threatened to press chargers, but your father managed to make a deal." Her eyes are filled with anger, but her voice is still soft. After a few minutes of awkward silence she gets up and walks back downstairs. I don't mean to seem rude, there is just nothing to say. I pick up the tray of soup and place it on the floor. Once I lay back into bed, sleep soon finds me.  I jolt awake during the night. I don't know why, normally when I wake up it is because of a bad nightmare, but this time there was no dream or nightmare. How odd. I suddenly hear a swift, air like sound. I search for signs of life in my room, but nothing. I must be hearing things. Possibly another downside of this incident is going crazy. But there it is again, a loud swoosh. I throw my legs over the bed and stand on my feet to get a better look of my surroundings. All I see is darkness with a bit of moonlight coming in through my window. That's when I notice that my window is open. My heart rate jumps and I quickly grab my steel rod from my nightstand. I will not be afraid again. I can handle it. I am strong. I will not be weak this time. I swing into the darkness, hitting nothing but air. NO! someone has to be here. I look around to see a figure standing in the moonlight, but I can't see it's face. Then I hear. "Hello, Lilith darling."
