🌸 Lost in Time, Found by the King EPISODE 2 A Stranger in Silk Aira woke up to silence. Not the peaceful kind. The heavy kind. She opened her eyes slowly and immediately forgot how to breathe. A ceiling painted with golden clouds. Silk curtains moving gently in the breeze. A massive carved bed beneath her. “This is not IKEA,” she whispered. She sat up. Her body was wrapped in soft royal robes, pale blue with silver embroidery. Her hoodie and jeans were gone. Her backpack sat neatly beside the bed. “Oh no.” She touched the fabric. “This probably costs more than my entire life savings.” A knock echoed. Two maids entered quietly. They bowed deeply. “Good morning, Lady Guest.” Aira blinked. “Lady… guest?” “Yes. His Majesty ordered that you be treated as an honored visitor.” Aira scratched her head. “That escalated quickly.” They helped her stand. One brushed her hair. Another adjusted her robe. Aira stared at her reflection in a bronze mirror. She barely recognized herself. Long hair softly braided. Skin glowing. Royal fabric flowing. She looked like she belonged in a historical drama. She smiled nervously. “Mom would freak out if she saw this.” 🌸 Breakfast with a King King Jian was already seated in the dining hall. He looked composed as always. Sharp eyes. Calm posture. Power wrapped in silence. Aira entered slowly. Everyone bowed. She awkwardly copied them, bending too low and almost hitting the table. He raised his hand. “You may sit.” She slid into the chair across from him. Food appeared instantly. Steamed buns. Sweet rice. Fruit carved into flowers. Aira stared. “Wow. Even my birthday breakfasts weren’t this fancy.” King Jian watched her pick up chopsticks incorrectly. She struggled. The bun fell. Rolled. Stopped near his plate. She froze. “…Sorry.” He calmly picked it up and placed it back on her plate. “You don’t need to apologize for everything.” She smiled sheepishly. “It’s a reflex.” He studied her while she ate. “You truly remember nothing about this era?” She shook her head. “I barely remember what I ate yesterday.” A tiny smile touched his lips. Lady Mei entered. She wore deep red silk. Her gaze immediately landed on Aira. She bowed to the king. Then looked at Aira. “So this is the mysterious girl.” Aira waved. “Hi.” Lady Mei did not wave back. She sat beside King Jian. A little too close. “You slept in the Rose Wing,” Lady Mei said. “Yes.” “That is reserved for royal guests.” Aira nodded. “I time-traveled. I think I qualify.” King Jian covered his mouth with his hand. He was hiding a smile. Lady Mei noticed. Her eyes darkened. 🌸 Palace Lessons Begin After breakfast, Aira was assigned a tutor. Master Rong. A serious man with tiny glasses. He began explaining royal customs. Aira tried. She really did. But— “You must never look directly into His Majesty’s eyes unless permitted.” Aira raised her hand. “What if he’s talking to me?” “You lower your gaze.” She frowned. “But eye contact builds trust.” Master Rong sighed. “You also must walk slowly. Gracefully.” Aira tried. Tripped on her robe. Nearly face-planted. King Jian, walking past, caught her again. Second time in two days. Her cheeks burned. “Are you secretly trying to fall into me?” he asked. She gasped. “No! I fall into furniture too.” He actually chuckled. The guards pretended not to see. Lady Mei saw everything. 🌸 Cute Scene: Calligraphy Disaster Later, Aira attempted calligraphy. Ink everywhere. Her sleeve dipped into black ink. She accidentally splashed some on King Jian’s document. Her eyes widened. “I just committed royal vandalism.” He looked at the stain. Then at her terrified face. He sighed. “It’s fine.” She blinked. “…Really?” “Yes.” She exhaled dramatically. “Thank you for not executing me.” He raised an eyebrow. “Is execution common in your world?” “Only emotionally.” He didn’t understand. But he smiled anyway. 🌸 Jealous Lady Lady Mei confronted Aira in the garden. “You should know your place.” Aira tilted her head. “Right now my place seems to be… everywhere.” “You don’t belong here.” Aira’s voice softened. “I know.” Lady Mei hesitated. Then hardened again. “You confuse His Majesty.” Aira hugged herself. “I didn’t ask to be here.” She walked away quietly. Lady Mei watched her go. Something complicated twisted inside her chest. 🌸 Night Confession That night, Aira stood on a balcony. Stars looked unfamiliar. She hugged her arms. King Jian approached silently. “You cannot sleep?” She shook her head. “I keep thinking I’ll wake up in my bed.” He stood beside her. “The palace can feel lonely.” She looked up at him. “Do you ever wish you weren’t king?” He answered honestly. “Yes.” She smiled sadly. “I wish I weren’t lost in time.” They shared silence. Then— “If there is a way back,” he said, “we will find it.” Her throat tightened. “You’d help me?” “You are under my protection.” She laughed softly. “That sounds very official.” He looked at her. “It is also personal.” Her heart skipped. 🌸 Small Gesture, Big Meaning The next day, Aira found a pair of soft embroidered shoes by her bed. A note beside them. So you won’t fall into ponds again. She pressed the shoes to her chest. She didn’t realize she was smiling until her cheeks hurt. Across the palace, King Jian stared out his window. He didn’t understand why this strange girl from another time affected him. But he knew one thing: The palace felt warmer with her in it. 🌸 Ending Hook That evening, Master Rong arrived with urgent news. “Your Majesty… ancient records mention a celestial mirror. It may relate to time crossings.” Aira’s breath caught. “A mirror?” King Jian stood. “Prepare an expedition.” Aira stepped forward. “I’m coming.” He met her eyes. “This path is dangerous.” She smiled bravely. “So is being stuck in history.” He nodded. Then gently placed his cloak around her shoulders. “Then we face it together.” And somewhere deep within the palace— Fate began to turn its next page.
