Adrian walked into the bathroom early the next morning to find me laying on the floor curled up in a ball. "Kiera what's wrong?" I looked up at him and smiled weakly. "I just don't feel well that's all." He lifted me in his arms and laid me gently on the bed, covering me up. "You're going to the doctor when you wake up, got it." I did my best to glare at him but seeing the smirk on his face, I knew I had failed. He kissed my forehead as he laid beside me and wrapped his arms around me, I snuggled against his chest as the nausea that was keeping me awake faded. He ran his hand through my hair, within moments my eyes drooped closed my eyes drooped closed, sleep finally overcoming me.
I woke up to find a note on my pillow. "I'll be back soon, when I come back you best be ready to go see the doctor, don't think I forgot last night. Love, Adrian" I smiled at the note as I got up grabbing a fresh set of pajamas and got in the shower, the hot water felt good as it ran down my back. I got out slowly my body feeling weak and got dressed. Adrian walked into the room, a smile spreading across his face. "Look who's awake." He wrapped his arms around my waist and kissed my forehead. "Ready to see the doctor?" he asked brushing the hair out of my face as he led me out of the bedroom. I groaned taking a deep breath when we left our apartment and headed to the courts infirmary.
The nurse smiled at us as we walked in. "Ah, Mr. Ivashkov, Ms. De La Cruz, What can I do for you two?" She greeted us happily. Adrian smiled at the nurse. "My fiance isn't feeling so well and I need to find out why." The nurse smiled taking me to a cot, she sat on a stool taking my vitals chatting cheerily as she went. "So my dear what are your symptoms?" I thought back to when it all started. "I get nauseous, I've been throwing up and sometimes I can't sleep." The nurse nodded as she listened to my explanation. "And when was your last period?" she asked, by now Adrian had excused himself to use to restroom. I counted the days back in my head looking up at her. "A...about three months ago." The nurse nodded again. "I'm going to have to take some blood alright?" she asked me gently, I nodded as she stood up to get the tools. Adrian sat beside me when she came back. "Whoa what'd I miss?" he asked seeing the tools she had returned with. I cringed and took Adrian's hand when she pulled out a needle. "I'm going to take a blood test to confirm what I think this little illness might be." Adrian pulled my face against his chest knowing my fear of needles.
After a two hour wait the nurse finally returned with my results. "Ms. De La Cruz, I have some good news for you." She said flipping through her clip board. Adrian looked impatient. "Congratulations you're pregnant." I stared at her in shock as Adrian froze beside me. She turned saying something about how she was going to give us time to absorb our good news and that we could leave whenever we wanted to. We left soon after in silence but then Adrian grinned as we headed home. "I just realized how excited I am about this." I laughed squeezing his hand as Christian and Lissa walked up to us. "Hey bestie what's so exciting?" He hugged me then went back to Lissa's side. "We just found out Kiera's pregnant." Adrian said still smiling. Lissa smiled hugging me softly. "That's great who's the dad?" Christian said winking, Adrian laughed. "The only man she's ever slept with in the past year obviously." he said softly, then said louder, "I was going to treat Kiera to lunch would you guys like to join us?" He asked, Lissa smiled. "We were headed in the same direction so sure." I took Adrian's hand as he led us to a restaurant.
As we ate I couldn't help but smile, everyone's aura was glowing but Adrian's was the brightest, I couldn't help but wonder if my own aura was as bright. As if guessing my thoughts Adrian leaned over and whispered ever so softly in my ear. "Kiera you're glowing." I looked up at him and smiled.
