Chapter 2

1022 Words
Amelia's POV It was now Friday. I keep wondering how I let Trace talk me into doing this but, hey... I will give her credit for getting me involved in this. We were in a dress store. She was trying to get me to get an outfit since I told her I would go to the club in some jeans and a t-shirt. She literally almost had a heart attack when I said that. I mean did the whole, holding her chest with her right hand, leaned and fell back into her chair. I was like, what the hell? Some women go to the club in jeans, but then again they are wearing heels and a nice shirt with some makeup on or something. So... I could see her point of view on the matter. Don't want to go to the club looking crazy now, do I? However, what Trace was doing was a bit over the top for me. We have gone through three outfits so far and she didn't like any of them. She said one didn't bring out my beauty, one was not curvy enough, and the other one was just too plain as she put it. "Trace, is this really necessary?" "Yes! Look here girl, I want you looking nothing but your best and only your best. This is a once and a lifetime opportunity to dress up and go out with me to a club. Drinks, dancing... and there are guys, of course." She said as she did a little shimmy dance. I shook my head and laughed at her, then looked at myself with my t-shirt and jeans on. I guess no guy would want me if I didn't look at least a bit of a girl. I didn't mind just jeans or something, but you think I would dress up since I am a queen, right? I shrugged at my own thoughts and decided to follow along with the plans of Trace. We went to sections of the store and started off with the dresses. She pulled out a black sleeveless dress with a slit in it. I was a bit embarrassed about it because I have never worn something like that. Even though I am a bit embarrassed, I will not lie, I looked pretty damn good in this dress. The next dress was a dark blue satin dress. It hung off my arm a bit and this one was kind of short. If I were to bend over, I bet my ass would be out and someone would want a piece of it. We won't be needing that one right now. Trace loved it because it showed off all my curves apparently. She said it wouldn't be a bad thing. In my case, if someone were to recognize me... it would be a bad thing. We kept going through dresses like it was nothing. Laughs here and there, even Trace started to try on some of the dresses. The day was going by for so long because when I looked outside, the sun was already starting to say by to the sky and the moon was already peeking out. I looked over at the dress and Trace apparently decided she wanted a drawstring dress, the color red because it matched her skin that stopped at her thighs. She said she would have silver shoes on with them and her nice chains and bracelets. We still had to find a dress for me. "Trace... why can't we just find a nice shirt and a pair of jeans with some boots?" "Girl nooo.... Don't you want to dress up nicely?" "I mean it would be a good thing, but this is a bit tooo much if you were to ask me." "I mean... this is the last dress. You don't like it?" The dress was pretty. It was a backless wrap cross cut out drawstring front halter dress. The color of the dress was black, of course, because why not? I could have gone with a different color but I was actually digging the black-colored dresses more than the other ones I tried on. Yeah, we basically went through the rainbow. The only color I was not even going to try to put on was brown or yellow. Don't come for me. It just didn't look right to me. "I do like the dress. It comes down to the right length. Most of my chest is covered, just this little bit is showing right now, so I do not mind it." "Then get this dress. I got some shoes you can wear at the apartment. They are black, a bit tall on the heel side, but they are good." I thought about it. Since this dress was one of the few that I liked and it didn't make me feel uncomfy... I guess I would decide to wear this dress. We told the lady who basically was helping us with the dresses that I would pay for that one and I headed to the cashier. For the dear life of me, I thought I knew the cashier but I couldn't put my finger on it. "Would that be all?" "Yes, thank you." "Um... not to be in your business, of course, but...do I know you?" "Not that I know of...Maybe I am just one of those people who have that familiar face." We chuckled a bit and she charged me for the dress. Trace and I headed back to the apartment and decided to get some take out due to not having enough time to cook. We did movie night, and watched a bunch of comedy movies with a bit of action in them. "The Meg," being one of them. I asked her to do a horror film but she shut me down quickly. I laughed at her reaction and threw some popcorn at her. Tonight was quiet but I am glad I got to relax before this club thing. Thinking about it gave me that butterfly scare feeling people get when they are about to do something that is completely outside their comfort zone.
