Amelia’s POV
I was back in the car. A bag over my head, handcuffs around my ankles and wrist. They drugged me by forcing me to smell something that disoriented my body. Everything was trying to be a blur but I forced myself to remember. Remember the important details I heard.
“He’s looking for her, so she is more expensive now.”
“That’s fine. Master would pay upfront whatever needs to be done with.”
“Keep her in the dark. If this gets back to us-“
I listened to the scuffle and stiffness of someone’s voice. A male, to be exact, along with another.
“You dare make assumptions?”
“I didn’t say that. What I am saying is, make sure that you guys cover your tracks.”
“Don’t worry about us. You just make sure this pathetic business you have here stays a business.”
“Yeah, a business he... participates in.”
I didn’t hear anything after that and everything else followed. Drugged and in a car again.
I wasn’t sure if someone else was with me. I did hear a hint of whimpering and crying, but I was trying to keep my brain focused on the noises and things I noticed from outside. At some point, it was a train I heard. We made a couple of turns, left and right. We went over a bumpy road that I am guessing was being rebuilt or something. I thought I heard kids running outside at some point, but I could be lying to myself.
The car started to slow, we came up a small hill like we were pulling into a driveway. I could hear a loud gate closing behind the car. The car came to a halt and soon the doors were opened, we were being pulled out of the car by our chains. I pulled against mines and felt my body being yanked afterwards. We were led by our chains until we came to a room. The carpet was soft to the touch.
It felt as if it were a long wait until we finally heard footsteps after a door was opened. A couple of people had to walk in due to the rapidity and difference of patterned walking that I heard. I felt my left ear raise itself then went back down as I waited for something, anything to happen in the time I sat in silence. Everyone stopped and listened to whoever sat in a chair that was before us. You heard a bit of shuffling as the person got comfortable in their seat.
“Welcome ladies. My name shall be nameless for now, since either you will not be here for long or just perish.” A male with a husky voice began to speak. “Welcome to my lovely home. In this home, you are my guest. As my guest, you either act right and follow the rules that are put into you and be graceful or be removed from the land and put out.”
A slight chuckle came from me and I listened to the movement in the chair.
“Is there something funny?”
“Quite frankly, yes.” I said as I lifted my head and faced where the male's voice was coming from.
“And what is so funny?”
“You personally. Why are you being so polite? Just speak with the authority you think you have over us. Say it with some gut. We either listen or we will die. Saying we will be removed is formal for someone who is not-“
I felt a large hand come crashing against my face but the person in the chair never moved. I’m guessing one of the lacky did it. The slap was hard enough to knock someone over, but I remained in my sitting position.
“Now that you have dealt with the consequences of your action, I will-“
“You call that a consequence? Didn’t feel like it. Felt like a whimp hitting someone who can’t whoop his ass in return. I would say whoever's hand just collided with my face, hits like a girl but I had a girl hit me harder than that, so it felt like a tickle.”
“Why you-“
“Disrespectful girl? I hear this often. How about take off these restraints and I can show you how disrespectful I can peacefully get?” I questioned with venom filling the tone in my voice. I listened as the speaker came off the chair and walked towards me. I felt a cold large hand grip my face while squeezing my cheeks together.
“It would be my pleasure to discipline you and get you right. Breaking you would be my absolute pleasure.” He said, whispering to me. I shook my head from his grip and he grabbed my face again but this time tighter.
“Don’t fight me.”
“You might as well kill me now then. Because I’ll keep fighting you and I swear when I get you alone, I'll make sure you wish you had never met me or brought me here.”
His chuckle was toxic. He was sickening to my damn stomach. And his breath stinks.
“Is that a threat?”
“That’s a promise…”
He released my face and even though I wanted to rub my face, I would never give this man the satisfaction of knowing he hurt my face a little.
He sat back down and sighed.
“Get comfortable ladies. Well, the ones who make it, that is. See to it that that one learns her lesson.”
My body was yanked up off the ground by my arm and I was pulled away. We walked with turns left and more left until the floor I walked on was soft and warm from the carpet to a hard, smooth, cold walking floor. I didn’t hear a door or anything so I probably wasn’t in a room. As we continued our walk, my body felt the chill since the space got colder. Where the hell were we going?
The door, sounding metallic with a creaking sound, opened up and I was pushed onto what felt like ice. I snatched the blindfold off my face and gasped as it turned out I was right. Frozen things, food packets, ice bags, a large black bag that looked like a body was in it with shelves that had things stacked onto it was in the room. I turned to the guy who closed the door in my face. I banged on the door, watching him turn away from me with a disgusted look, and walked away. How the hell am I going to survive here?!
