Chapter 20

1120 Words
Amelia's POV It has been three days since my little chat with the arrogant ass. His daughter has constantly been coming down and spending time with me throughout the day. I am worried about her here and there, because if she is supposed to be some big secret, then her being down here with me every day would be a huge problem if she were to get caught. I don't want her in trouble, but having her as a bit of company is going better than normal. So far, in a bit of time, I have grown a bit attached to her. It has only been three days though, so I don't want to do anything too much though, because this could be a set-up by her father to find out anything or to get me to drop my guard. If he were to use a child like that, then I would never have respect for him and I would definitely have to get full on revenge for that one. My thoughts were interrupted when the door to the cell opened. I turned around to see the minions of Sir asshole at the door. How long have they been standing there, and how come I didn't know they were standing there? I turned my body towards them, and they moved from the door. I looked and walked over to the door and went to take one step. No one stopped me. They didn't even look at me. I walked out of the cell and one of them closed the door behind me. One walked in front of me and one walked behind me. I felt like I was in between two moving giants with how short they were making me feel. We walked around, and now I was getting the information I needed. Cameras were in every room. One in the hallway that we were walking in. We walked past the hall steps that went up in a small spiral. I guess the bedrooms were up there. Walked past a kitchen. The theme was silver and white with marble counter tops. Five maids were in there along with cooks who must have been preparing the next meal for the day. I walked past a room that had a golden plaque on it that said, "The Study." I wondered what was in there. We came up to a room and both of them stopped. I peaked around the tall one in front of me and noticed it was Secret. She was sitting in the hallway with a bunny in her hand. It was white with a black tail. I looked over to see a door open on the side of her. I saw a foot but the voice rung in my ears like it normally did when I heard it. "You shall not. Get it out of the house and go back to your room." "But... it's pretty. Isn't it pretty?" You could start to hear the breaking in her voice. Like the sadness she tried to hold down, it was definitely beginning to rise up and soon, burst because she could not hold it any longer. "I want... I want a friend... can I please have-" "No! Get that animal out of the house and that is the final say about this! Remove her from my sight and make it fast." I looked at Secret's face and it broke. Tears were coming down, she was trying to catch her breath and the guard behind me began to move. I tripped him and came out from behind the other guard and walked over to Sir asshole. He was shocked to see me, and before he could chuckle, I slapped him across the face. He didn't move, and I was snatched up by the other guards. I looked down at Secret, who was watching with a saddened face. I returned her expression with a sad smile and let the guards drag me back to the cell. They threw me in there like I was nothing and I didn't even move. They slammed the gate shut and left with no words given. I gave it time until I got myself up off the floor and brushed myself off of any dust that could have been on me. I turned to the door and there she was again. Holding a teddy bear in her hand and her eyes were red. Guessing from the crying she was doing. I went over to the bar and motioned for her to come to me. No argument, she came, and I hugged her through the space between the bars. She sniffled and tried not to cry, but the tears were coming down anyway. "Its... I am not going to even say it is okay. Because no one should talk to you like that. I don't want to see that for you." "I... I just wanted a friend." "I know you do. I know you just want a friend." I took her out of my arms for a bit and wiped her tears away. She sniffled once again and looked over at me. "It is okay to cry. It is okay to be upset, and it is okay to feel frustrated because someone is being extremely mean to you for no reason whatsoever. I do not like it." "You will be in trouble for hitting him though. I hope that you will get to stay and don't get in trouble for that." "Even if I get in trouble, it is worth it. I do not like the way he was treating you. It was not called for." "I just really... wanted the bunny. It was all alone in the fields when I went outside. I went into the kitchen and gave the bunny a carrot, and it ate it. It stayed with me for a bit and I... I thought it would be nice to have a friend that could keep me company while I am here, and we could go outside but… but he was being mean again. I just wanted a friend." I rubbed her back, and I could see that she wanted to cry all over again. It was cruel the way he was acting towards her. I didn't like it. If I could, I would take her far away from here and just give her some type of love and happiness that she is desperately looking for. I wiped the tears from her face again and lifted her head. "How... about I be... your friend? Would you like to be my friend?" She nodded her head and used her arms to wipe her face. She showed me the happiest smile she could give me. "YES!"
