Lori's POV "We are standing here with the detective who is on the case of the missing women. Tell me what has progressed here tonight." "Thanks to some brave souls, we were able to get a hand on a suspicious truck that left a location that was anonymously given to us here at the police department. Following this lead, we were able to stop the suspicious truck and we are now obtaining any evidence pertaining to the case." "And how are you guys dealing with the missing persons that is happening here, solely in this kingdom?" "All hands are on this case and everyone is working hard and over time for this case. We do hope to return everyone back home safely, give some families peace and put an end to this tragedy that is happening to innocent families." "Well, you heard it first from our detective. Thanks to her and her team and with the help of the chief, we are getting answers to the cases of missing women that are happening." I walked away from the media and sighed. I hate having the press on me when times like this. I wanted my head in the case. The press and the people sometimes made it a bit harder to complete your job because they wanted to be noisy and know everything and then exploit it for their pleasure or for the next pay check. I don't think the media really cares about making sure people are coming home safely. I headed over to the truck when my arm was snatched up by the chief. His grip was tight like he was agitated by something. "Chief, what the hell-" "Who in the hell told you to bring these kings into the investigation?!" "Excuse me? They came to the crime scene talking about how they were given access from THE KING! You didn't tell me! I could have made the-" "This isn't about you! This is about me! You knew who that man was when he came! Why didn't you tell me that he was the king?" "I was not authorized to-" "I authorize you! Not them! I do! When they leave and you are stuck here with no job, what are you going to do? Not a damn thing!" "We caught something! We got something better than what anyone else was doing! Without their help we wouldn't have-" "I don't give a f**k about their help! You should have been at your desk where I told you to be! Not out here causing a mess that low key needs to be fixed now!" "Sir-" "Nothing! Now what do they know?" "Why do you care what the king knows?" "Are you questioning me?" "I am questioning your reasons. Why do you want to know what they know? So you can be ahead of them on the investigation?" "Duh! Stupid girl." I took a step back from him with a disgusted look on my face. "You want to know what they know? Go ask them yourself." "Fine. You want to be like that then. You have been warned. You had better choose whose side you are on and it had better be the right one or it will cost you." He walked away from me, grumbling and mumbling underneath his breath. I sighed and took out my phone with the recording still going. I was going to report him to someone who would have a higher authority and prove to people that I am not losing my mind when it comes to him. I know he is doing something suspicious and I had better be able to find out, especially due to what happened the last time. I do not want what happened last time to happen again. Nia's POV We were standing by the truck. This chief was sus! He was acting all types of weird. After he opened the truck, he left, and then I noticed that the detective woman who was distracting the media, she disappeared as well. They had better not be together in this situation. I think I will tell the guys about this later. We were given the go to inspect the truck and when we got it open, it was just as we thought. Women of all ages were huddled in the corners with blankets on them. Hair was a bit messy. I could see a few injuries on some of the women's bodies. This was horrible and it was troubling to see and be apart of it. However, I will not jump to conclusions and I think I will just have a word with the guys later on about it. Right now, what needs to be done is get help for these girls and women. The night was long. My team and I were bandaging the wounds, giving a helping hand to the women who were feeling really scared, and just giving everyone some care. I could tell it was hard for them. The guys were really easy with their questions of how could this have happened, do anyone know who took them, how long were they taken for. Any information that they could get, they got it. Especially any information about Amelia. I know for my brother this was hard because, well their past has history. She was sold to him but it was for the good and now she was sold to someone else and we have no clue how that is working out for her. I do hope that she is alright and that she is safe. I hope we can get something from her. "Nia, we are going to need medical transport. I am going on ahead, are you coming back?" "No, no go on ahead. I want to make sure that everything here is good before I head back to the hospital." They nodded their head and went onto the ambulance and drove off. I went and spoke to one of the girls. "Hey... hey... um I know this is all so much to take in right now. Could you tell me your name?" "M-My n-n...name... i-is... Zellina..." "Good... good. Hi Zellina. My name is Nia. My brother worked so hard to come and get you guys out of this situation and return you home. Are you okay? Are you hurt anywhere?" I could see the tears streaming on her face. She slowly lifted her arm and their was a cut on it. It looked fresh but her body seemed to start the healing process. "I tried to run and I cut my arm on something and then it got like this." "Well... can I help you out with this?" She nodded her head and I got to work by cleaning her wound first and then wrapping a bandage around her arm. I kept her talking. She came down here on a trip since it was vacation time from school and she wanted to do something different. She said some men drugged her drink and the next thing she knew, she was waking up in a cage and people were instructing her on her fate. It was hard and really infuriating to hear what these men were doing. They thought themselves so slick and proud of themselves for taking people. Then again, my brother did something stupid like this, but not with this amount of women. I hope he will never turn out like this. "Did... they find the red-haired girl?" I stopped and looked at the girl who I was treating and she looked at me with a scared but worried expression. "Red... haired girl? What... what did she look like?" "She had red hair... green eyes. She got into it with one of the guys. Bit him on the hand. I... think... I think someone called her Leah?" "If... if I were to show you a picture... would you possibly be able to recognize her?" The little girl nodded her head and used her arm to wipe away her tears. I pulled my phone out of my pocket and searched for a picture. I found the greatest one I have and showed it to the girl. She nodded her head and looked up at me with a bit of hope, but still had the worried expression on her face. "Guys! Guys come here really quickly." I called and got the attention of the guys. They walked over to me and I placed my arm around the girl. "She... she has seen Amelia."
