Chapter 5

Norton pulled me out at lunch as we made our way to the cafeteria. I have been here for I think twice, not for eating but to call someone. Like dude, I have not eaten here before because I cannot afford to pay.

It was Norton's punishment to pay for mine, so that's kind of great for me to finally eat here.

As we seat, there are not much people yet and I think we came the earliest. It is much better that way.

"So what do you want?" Norton asked as promised.

I smiled devilesh with a matching smirk. "Can I break your pocket?"

"What?"

"I am a big eater and since I am your friend and I only come here once. Why not just take away a budget of three meals?" I pleaded as if I was very hungry.

Norton looked at me shocked. His eyes were widened as if to see a ghost.

"Who are you girl?"

I laughed. "Nah! Just kidding but seriously, I'm not those kind of girls who eat only a teaspoon and they're full like dude how can a teaspoon of rice full your big stomach," I defended myself. I guess he knows what meant there.

"You really are one something different," he said.

We finally got our plates and started to pick our food. The food looks really yummy and tasty.

Suddenly, the door broke and a group of people came in.

"Ariane?" I gasped.

Of course they are here. These people own this cafeteria everyday. Of course they'll be here.

As Norton paid our lunch, we immediately took our seat far away from them. As minutes pass by, others came in too.

There was Kyle Pierce and his team. There was also Karl and the flirty boys with him. There are lots of people in here by the next minutes. And hey! they got those titles around.

"Why are we even here?" I merely asked Norton while looking down afraid to be noticed by someone.

"I don't know, because we're eating?"

"No! I regret doing this deal," I said taking bite by bite of my food.

Norton kinda laughed at me. "Maybe it's your first time but you should finish your food, I paid for that," he warned.

Yes I picked too much and I have to finish it all or it will go to waste. I hate everything going to waste. I am not that rich. No. And Norton had paid for this.

We were happily eating when someone freakingly shouted by the door.

"Hey Kerry! I got her!"

It was Clarisse from the hot girls and guess whom she's with. It was Trexie!

What's with them?

I can see all eyes at Clarisse while she drags Trexie to the table where the other girls were chatting. I don't see good things in here. They've got to have something about this.

Looking at how they pinch her body makes me wanna punch their faces. Trexie is doing nothing. The other day, it was Kyle Pierce's toy, now it was the girls turn?

Trexie is not a thing. She's a human too! What's with this school? The cafeterian was just watching and not doing anything.

"Is this just to do it in here?" I asked Norton while he could not get his eyes away from the other table.

"I think so?"

"Why are we not doing anything?" I asked as if we were just watching a movie.

"You should not. Kerry's dad is a powerful Judge in this city. You don't want to deal with that," Norton said.

Wow! So that's how powerful people waste their time. No wonder why, Trexie could not fight back and all other students were laughing.

"I think we should go," I pleaded.

I could not hold myself to watch someone being tortured to an inhuman activity. And so I did not know that such foolish bullying was even happening at this school.

I promised to graduate this year without getting in trouble and so I should hold unto that.

As we walked out, I heard one of the students chatter as they go.

"Trexie should'nt have flirt with Khai. She's going crazy!"

And they laughed walking past us.

"Hey!" Norton stopped me. "Don't mind other's businesses."

I hope ths really is a misundertanding but as well as I was puzzled that she came in this morning with Khai. But I do not see the flirty thing.

I breathed deeply as we leaned by the buildings wall in the hallway.

"By the way," Norton interrupted the silence. "I have a game tomorrow."

"And?"

Yeah Norton is a sport guy. He is the only qualified basketball player in this school and he is always excused to have training during school days. How lucky is he.

"You should come and watch me."

"Is that another definition of friendship?" I constantly asked him.

"No. I mean yes so you should come," he answered.

I laughed at him. He looks like a begging monkey.

"Don't worry, I'll come."

I patted his back. We went inside our classroom and waited for the bell to ring.

I can see Trexie as she made her seat beside me. I looked at her. She has the messy hair again and her hands were shaking.

"Are you okay?" I tilted my head to look at her.

She ignored me and kept bowed.

I wrote in a piece of paper. 'R U OK?' I crumpled then threw right into her lap.

Trexie looked at me and shook her head. She seemed troubled. My lips pointed round and started to put direction using my chin telling her to look at the paper I threw.

Trexie wiggled her head. I do not understand her.

I wrote again. 'Is it about Khai?' then I threw it again. But still she does not open the paper.

For the last time it has to work.

I wrote, 'Don't worry, I don't believe everyone else'

This time I slide it to her table so she can read it directly even though she does not want to.

Trexie looked at me. She was starting to cry while smiling at me but I focused myself. At least I was able to say anything to her.

After school has ended, I was not able to talk to Trexie since she fastly sneaked out. Norton approached me too and said that he needs go to his team at the other school for preparation of tomorrow.

I do not have anyone to look for so I made my way out after. Anyway, I had to go to the library first to borrow a book that I can use for english. It does not take long and mom was not yet here to pick me up.

As I made my way down the road to the library, Khai was before me. The only problem is that, this way we were taking is only ending in one place. Don't know why he is going to the library too.

Then I remembered Trexie. I looked around, there was no one beside us. I had to grab this chance to talk to him about the problem.

"Hey! Man in black hoodie!" I shouted. I knew that it was Khai from the back and his style of walking.

Khai turned around. He was only looking at me.

"Yeah you!" I was brave enough to call him but my heart started to beat fast. "Uhh-" I stopped. Before I called, I did not know I have not thought of how to say things to him.

Khai turned his back and continued walking. It was kind of an embarassment that I called and said nothing. Makes me feel like a flirty crush to him as most girls in this school. I have to clear this misunderstanding.

"Hey stop!" I called as I rush to walk with him. "I said stop!" My hands grabbed his hoodie and choked him.

"Ha--," Khai choked. "What are you--- insane! Are you planning to kill me?" he shouted at me.

I swallowed my toughness and was only to end us in a "SORRY!"

I fastly walk past him but then I felt my feet were not moving at all.

"What do you want?" Khai was holding my hand.

I was so shocked to see that. Immediately, I pulled my hand from his. I breathed heavily, my hand is shaking, I felt so numb and I can't barely talk.

"I'm serious! What do you f*****g want from me?" Khai asked.

Wiggled, my body and tapped my chest. "It's about Trexie," I finally let my words out.

His forehead curled as if not knowing anything about what happened this lunch because of him. My forehead curled as well. I cannot guess if this guy is tricking me or what!

"We're you at the cafeteria at twelve?" I asked. I had to make sure to lessen my embarassment if ever.

"No."

Oh! No wonder why he does'nt get it.

"We'll Trexie got bullied by your little girlfriends and that includes your sister too," I blurted out.

"Were you there?" Khai asked. I nodded. "Ah! You should've seen how s**t that place was. Don't go there again."

"Hey!" I stopped. He seems to be changing the topic. "I don't care about that but Trexie got bullied because of you!"

"What! No! I saved her from Kyle Pierce this morning. I am the hero and you are talking me the opposite," Khai defended.

"That's the problem! They misunderstood okay!"

Khai went silent.

"Well why do you care too much of that girl? She's like nobody!"

"Hey!" I stopped him fr talking such s**t. "She aint nobody! You probably don't know me but I'm her friend!"

"No," Khai refused. "I know you. You are the new girl. The most beautiful girl who have hit me pretty hard till this day."

WHAT!

I pouted and making one yanky face outpassing him. What a crazy blind man! I moved my feet the fastest to reach the library while I hear him shout.

"SAMANTHA JACOBS, YOU'RE HOT!"
