The manager turned to me, and the look on his face was wild; he was silently screaming at me to keep my mouth shut. He stepped closer, grabbing my arm, whispering so only I could hear.
“Listen,” he said firmly. “These are powerful men and I can’t afford to cross either of them. This… this is the only way nobody walks out hating me and my bar stays standing. So, you’re going to stand right here and let it happen. Got it?”
