Chapter 21

Ase

Music started to play, and that was our cue to start making our way to the garden. It was magic. All different color roses wrapped around the arch way at the end on a stage, red carpet down the walkway, rose petals scattered across for us to walk on, chairs each side in rows all the way up. Family, friends, and the tribe filled these chairs. Everyone looked at us as we walked down to the stage.

We went on the stage under the arch way, the music finished, and Dimitri's parents stood facing the crowd with two crowns on a red pillow each.

''Thank you everyone for coming today to witness the blessing of our son's mate Ase-'' The crowd all roared in happiness. It made me feel so blessed to be part of this tribe.

''Settle down everyone, we are here to bless Ase and crown as your new Queen.'' more cheers erupted, stopping Acacius from finish speaking. Elodie and Acacius looked at each other smiling and waited for the crowd to go quiet again. They put Dimitri’s crown on his head as he has already had the title passed down to him. He then stepped over to me, taking my hand, and asked,

''Ase my mate, do you accept this crown, to be the Queen the tribe needs, to make sure everyone is treated fairly, to help the dragons in need, to watch over them as a mother would her child?''

''I do!'' I shouted, looking at the crowd, before they could start celebrating again, I quickly spoke '' I want to thank everyone in this tribe, for being so kind to me, accepting me, welcoming me with open arms. I feel so blessed to not only find my mate Dimitri but to have a wonderful tribe who accepted me. I will always do everything in my power to make sure no one goes without anything you need to ask me to please do, even if it is to look after your hatchlings.''

The crowd roared again, Dimitri put on the crown, I thought it would be heavy, but it was light, it was smaller than his, it was vines with flowers around it and a small dragon in the middle. Dimitri had the same but a larger one.

''Let's get the party started then, shall we!'' Elodie and Acacius shouted into the crowd.

Everyone cheered again, and started to make their way to where the party will be. There was a dance floor, tables and chairs around, food laid on tables, a drink table, and a gazebo tent for anyone who wants to go in to the shade.

The ceremony felt similar to a human wedding, with the way it was set up. Me and Dimitri done a dance together, ate, drank and had everyone come up and congratulate us. Some of the young kids all asked for a dance with me, and a few of the little kids asked Dimitri to spin them around as he was so tall.

Watching him with the kids made my mind wonder for a moment thinking about when we have children how he would be with them, it seemed like a glimpse in to the future.

I danced with the kids and then my brother Gunner who I am sure had a tear in his eye. When we finished dancing he went over to Dimitri doing their man hug, slaps on the back and all that. Next was my father to dance with me.

''I'm so proud of Ase, you are the best daughter I could have ever asked for, the Goddess bless me and your mother the day we found you and now her blessings have passed on to you. I am happy that you are close by as well, anytime you need us for anything you let me know, I will always drop everything to be here for you. Love you so much my daughter.'' The tears rolled down my cheeks I told my father I loved him too, laying my head on chest as I couldn't reach his shoulder we danced the rest of the song in silence.

I made my way to the drink table to get a drink and hopefully sit down for 5 minutes as I was knackered. From the cave to the ceremony I have not had a moment to stop.

Grabbing a empty table I went to sit down when I was lifted up and placed on Dimitri's lap.

''Dad wants to know when you are ready if he can have a dance with you?''

''Of course! I just needed a drink and to sit for 5 minutes, not having a break is knackering.'' I said with a chuckle.

''Sorry little one I did get a bit possessive and should of given you more of a break, I knew what was coming next as I've been taught all my life, but I couldn't help it.'' Dimitri said in to my ear and started to kiss my neck, when Acacius came to the table.

''Alright son you had your time with her, give this old man just one dance at least.'' I felt Dimitri sigh in to my neck, grumbling how he is getting no time with me at our own ceremony.

I slid off his lap and went to the dance floor with Acacius for a dance.

''Ase I am so happy the Goddess bless my son with you, you will make a fine queen and daughter in law. I prayed to the Goddess everyday with Elodie found out she was pregnant to have a daughter in law like you. Thank you for accepting my son, even with your past I know was bad, you still are an amazing soul, may the Goddess keep blessing you both.''

The dance was hard after that as the tears started again, Acaius had to guide me with my eyes being blurry. When I managed to speak again I thanked him and told him I was so lucky to have Dimitri, Acacius and Elodie.

The party went late in to the night different games was played and I started to struggle to stay awake, I was ready to crawl in to bed and call it a night. When Dimitri see my eyes starting to drop, he picked me up told everyone we was going to bed and to enjoy the rest of the party. I was too tired to get embarrassed by what he said as I was half way to being asleep.

Upstairs Dimitri took me to the bathroom where he brushed my teeth for me, helped me to get changed to my sleep wear and put me in to bed. He got himself ready and slipped in pulling my to his chest. Listening to his heartbeat under my ear it lulled me to sleep.

We slept through until lunch time, which turned out most of everyone had, apart from the ones with little kids who had to leave earlier, they was up at normal time. We got up and shared a shower with a quicky, as it would save on water was Dimitri's excuse.

We went downstairs to the dining room to the table where everyone was eating and having a coffee or tea. We sat in our spots but the table had been extended and extra chairs for my family to all fit on and eat with us. Everyone was excited to see our marks, but was confused on how I done it to Dimitri. We told them about the light that left me and it copied what Dimitri done.

My family kept looking at Dimitri’s marks, they said they have seen similar marks before only once in their lives in a book. This intrigued me and Dimitri, maybe we would get some answers. When asked they couldn't remember what book or what it meant, but they would investigate it. It was a little disappointing but I wouldn't blame them for not knowing, at least they are helping.

As we was up late and only had our ceremony last night the whole tribe is to relax today, everyone to stay home and enjoy family time. Tomorrow we would be back to normal and I will be taking on my new duties. I am excited about it, but very nervous. I hope I don't mess anything up.

My family will be making their way home today as they need to get back to the pack. I wish they could have stayed longer, but I understood especially as I will be taking on duties tomorrow so I wouldn't really get any time with them. Today I was going to enjoy all the time I could with them before they leave.

It has been a whirlwind week but I wouldn't change it for the world. I got to finally mate with Dimitri, done the crowing ceremony which was worrying and my family came to see me. Sending a quick prayer up to the Goddess to thank her for everything, even though my life started horrible from the age of 5 when my mum was taken from this world up till I was 14, I am glad I went through it all as I got to have an amazing family, and now my mate and his family, the Valhalla pack and now Dimitri's tribe. Thank you Goddess for everything.
