Chapter 3

''Something is on your mind Ase, spill.'’ Katy stopped singing, looking at me dead in the eyes. This girl can read me like an open book.

She was a beautiful girl with the reddest hair and the greenest eyes. She stood at 5'7 Slim but toned, a true warrior. She was smaller than other female wolves being born premature.

''It’s ok Katy, I’m not sure what it is, but my gut is telling me to prepare for something. I feel something is going to happen today. I can’t put my finger on it. Just probably my mind in overdrive preparing for the events. I’ll let father know in a moment.'' I must not have sounded convincing that everything is ok, as Katy just stared at me.

''Goddess Katy, don’t stare so hard as that, want the wind to change, a face like that your mate would think you hate them.'' I say, laughing at her glaring face. She had a hard-as-stone look.

''Don’t you dare Ase, you are not getting out of this, try, and I will beat your arse on those training mats.'' I could not help but snort a laugh.

Do not get me wrong. Katy is one tough cookie. She can make a grown man cry. As for beating me not going to happen, we are too evenly matched. One time, Angus put us together, and we were never allowed to train together again. We are very competitive, we wouldn’t tap out, or give up, we were evenly matched but had a great time doing it.

When Angus found out we were having a laugh doing it, he was mad. He and everyone believed we were going to end up killing each other. What also did not help was I am not a wolf. I am not sure what I am, no one left to tell me what or who I am.

I can control all elements, telekinesis and mind reading, which I do not do.

I find it an invasion of privacy.

To be honest, I would rather the person tell me they do not like me or like me, not hide behind a smile and think vile things about me.

It hurts to know the truth, but I can accept the truth, not the truth behind my back. I do not like fakes.

As Katy was about to respond, Alpha mind linked us.

*Girls, the Pinewood pack has just turned up, they are coming up now. Would you be able to arrange an earlier lunch for us please?*

*Yes sir* We both responded. Guess this is the reason for the bad feeling.

My old pack has arrived, two days early. Something is going on. I hope my uncle is not with them, even though I look different, he could easily spot me and reckonise me. Please Goddess keep me protected.

Alpha William

I can’t believe my dad made me come to this shitty backwards pack, he believed it was a clever idea to show off our warriors and make connections with other packs. ‘Get more packs to sign agreements’, he said.

We are one of the top packs at the 3rd strongest soon to be number one. I will not sit in 3rd. With me in charge, we would soon be number one. We used to be second until my dad got lazy and a small bottom of the mountain pack took second place.

Dad couldn’t care less as he was just too cocky and lazy to change it. He always has believed we were number one.

''Babe, when we are getting there, I seriously need to get out and stretch my legs. This drive is taking forever, and I’m starving!'' Ashley started to whine again.

Throughout the whole trip this all she has done, b***h about anything of which she could think. It was only a 5-hour drive. Running would have been quicker but having to go through other packs I just couldn't be bothered with that.

Ashley is my chosen mate. I found my mate a year ago, a dirty omega. Like f**k I was going to have that filth as my mate. Once I rejected her, I got her banished, I told my dad she was my mate he made sure she was thrown out as quickly as possible. My father got gifted a warrior mate with no title, he rejected her quickly and took my mum as a chosen mate, she was of Beta blood.

Ashley is Beta’s daughter, so she was a perfect fit for me. She is a good lay, so she got to stick around, helps that she will look the other way when I have a fling. She does the same, thinks I don’t know that is f*****g through my warriors.

She won’t say anything about my affairs as she doesn’t want to lose the title of Luna, not that she officially has yet.

I have not marked her, just in case my second chance mate comes along. I keep putting her off, give her my credit card and tell her to go shopping, get hair done or nails. She quickly runs off. My wolf has been holding off marking her, he wanted our omega mate. Lately he has been quiet.

At 28, I’m beginning to wonder when my second chance will come into my life. Hopefully she is Alpha’s daughter. My mate having the highest title would be the best, how I could brag to other pack leaders. We would be so strong together. As for Ashley, she would need to leave the pack.

''Ashley, we are almost there. Just sit down and be quiet. 'Do not make me regret bringing you!'' I shouted back at her, on the brink of just throwing her out of the car. The problem with Ashley is that she is an only child and spoiled.

Ashley sat down and pouted like a child but thank the Goddess she shut up!

Due to my dads Beta, Beta Jorden only having Ashley, he needed to hand the title down to someone, so he took Conner, his brother's second son, who was from another pack, under his wing to train him to be the next Beta. A female can’t be Beta.

*I know man, but I have got to keep up appearances as everyone believes Ashley is Luna. She was invited as well. Never know she might find her mate and leave us alone. * I mind linked back to Conner laughing.

He did not look happy at all about my answer.

*Will, I have a bad feeling that she is going to f**k this up. You know how she can get possessive and stupid with words coming out of her mouth. *

*Do not worry, I will handle it* Before I could finish my driver spoke.

''We are here Alpha.'' My driver told me, turning down a long trail going towards the pack house.

There was not much to look at, just a big log cabin with a few floors. This is their pack house. You could tell it was the pack house as it was bigger than the other ones around. All the homes here are just log cabins, nothing special like our pack. I cannot believe these people live like this! It is like we are at a s**t resort or something!

These are the number 1 pack! After this event is over, I will make sure we pass these into 3rd place, or lower.

Men who were huge, warriors, lined up on each side of the trail, banging on old-style drums, announcing our arrival. Is this what they do upon someone's arrival? How the hell did they know we had arrived? There was no gate with guards to greet us. I did not see anyone in the forest on the way up it was silent, no shadows of wolves.

Alpha Aric, Beta Odin and Gamma Loki were standing on the front porch, awaiting us.

Again, how did they know we had arrived? This was supposed to be a surprise, I needed to take them off guard for us to snoop around before other packs arrived and got in the way!

''Finally, we have arrived! What a dump. We are seriously staying here. Why can we get a 5* hotel this –'' Ashley started whining again, but on the looks of Alpha’s face he heard her every word. The way his face darkened, I'm not going to lie scared the s**t out of me.

Alpha Aric was in his late 40's, though he looked young still, shifters don't age, a long beard with beads in, long black hair braided back, tattoos all up his arms. Standing at 6'6 and pure muscle, I guess I can see why they are number 1. He looks like a true Viking. If you looked up Viking in our history books, his picture would be there.

The Beta Odin, slightly shorter, around 6'5 maybe 6'4, again just pure muscle. He had a clean-shaven head and clean-shaven face, tattoos going up the back of his head and to his forehead. Some tattoos going down one arm.

Gamma Loki, he was the same height as the Beta, long blonde hair, pure muscle again. What do these guys do just work out all day?

They locked eyes on us when Ashley opened her fat mouth, if looks could kill, we would be 6 feet under. f**k she is going to f**k this trip up. Conner just looked at as to say I told you so.

''ASHLEY SHUT THE f**k UP!'' I yelled, making sure they all heard me.

*Ashley, you better shut the f**k up now. The Alpha heard everything you said. DON’T f*****g RUIN THIS TRIP. I SWEAR YOU WILL BE PUT IN THE DUNGENS AND FIND OUT WHAT HAPPENS DOWN THERE. DO I MAKE MYSELF CLEAR! *

I shouted through the mind link. After shouting out loud, Ashley cowered down and apologised straight away.

Exiting the car, we greeted the Alpha Beta and Gamma.

''Good afternoon, Alpha, Beta and Gamma. I do apologise for the early arrival and a few words that were spoken'' Looking at Ashley with daggers, making sure she kept her mouth shut!

''We were at another pack visiting. They had trouble with some outsiders and needed a helping hand. We did not want to be late, so we left and got here quicker than expected.' I told the lie I had rehearsed well. We left our pack but needed to make sure they thought we were at another pack far away.

''This is my Beta Conner and my Luna Ashley.' I point to each of them. The Alpha Beta and Gamma nod their heads in greeting.

''Not a problem, Alpha William, we will show you to your rooms. Odin will show your warriors to their cabins when they come down the path, and then we shall grab an early lunch. I am sure you are hungry?' Alpha Aric said. Nodding our heads, we followed them inside to our rooms.

*Everyone knows the plan, find out s**t, we need to beat every pack, including this one. We need to know the trials. Most importantly, we must find my cousin. She has to be brought back! * I say through the mind link, reminding them why we are there.

Ashley is just pouting still, she hates to be told off. I'll have to make it up to her when we get this lunch out of the way. A good f*****g for us both, blow off some steam should do.
