September 30, 2134 Rheanelle's PoV ''In the field of military theory, the operational level of war also called operational art, as derived from Russian: оперативное искусство, or operational warfare represents the level of command that connects the details of tactics with the goals of strategy.'' Stella said. Denver suddenly sat beside me. ''Denver!'' Rheanelle exclaimed. ''That's an overreaction, Rheanelle.'' Denver said. ''Why are you here? We have agreed to never come close with each other unless its about this shit.'' ''Why? I cannot just ignore the fact that---'' Rheanelle didn't let Denver finished and covered his mouth. ''Sorry, we have to talk girls. Just go to the next class, we will have our lunch together.'' I didn't even say a word and left the two. ''Mmmmph...mmmphh'' ''WHAT?! Your l*****g my palm! What's wrong with you? Your smart but you can't even understand the phrase 'stay away'.'' ''I understand it. But I cannot just stay away from you knowing your the missing specimen.'' ''Missing specimen or kidn*pped girl, I don't care! I'm living my life now!'' ''You remembered?'' ''No. But I have feeling it might be true. I'm not dumb.'' He suddenly hugged me. ''Denver!'' ''I'm sorry.'' I somehow want him to do it again. ''I'm enlisting for doctorate, this Sunday...'' What am I saying? I have my eyes on commanding. ''...wanna enlist with me?'' I even invited him. ''Y-you...Yo-you changed your mind?'' ''Ahh...'' I look at him in the eyes. ''Then I'll be happy to have you as my partner during the war.'' He said with these light gleaming in his eyes. *Ring *Ring ''Let's go. Wipe that look. Its disgusting.'' My words are contradicting the way I feel now. His smile melt the doubt for him. All I need is to confirm all of Denver's accusations to my uncle. Or I don't know what is the man with the name of Khan Wister is to me. Denver opened the door for me as we arrived at our room. It's still the two of us. ''Let's go to the library after class?'' ''Okay. I hope it won't be like last time.'' ''It won't and I promised.'' Our classmates suddenly entered. Stella and Peach looks really confused about what's happening between me and Denver. ''Can I say this to the two?'' ''Yes. I trust them, too.'' *Sigh ''What's with that deep sigh, Rheanelle?'' Stella asked me as she sat. ''Nothing.'' Thank gosh. A thorn will be gone in me tonight. ''Good Afternoon, Class 1-A. Answer.'' ''Good afternoon, Professor Unvecinelle.'' ''Today, we will have the aircraft, Airship or the Dirigible Balloon. This lesson is supposed to be for the third years, but we need first-years to drive the f*****g ship. So, this remaining days of our class this week will be focusing on this lesson and other flying vehicles. I'll be choosing only one person in this class, so give it your all.'' As always, we remained silent. ''Now, shall we begin. Answer.'' ''Yes, Sir!'' ''An airship or dirigible balloon is a type of aerostat or lighter-than-air aircraft that can navigate through the air under its own power.[1] Aerostats gain their lift from a lifting gas that is less dense than the surrounding air...'' Professor Aaron began his lesson as we arrived at a lot where the airship is located. ''...In early dirigibles, the lifting gas used was hydrogen, due to its high lifting capacity and ready availability. Helium gas has almost the same lifting capacity and is not flammable, unlike hydrogen, but is rare and relatively expensive. Significant amounts were first discovered in the United States and for a while helium was only used for airships in that country. Most airships built since the 1960s have used helium, though some have used hot air...'' I don't wanna drive this freaking thing. I have my eyes on doctorate now. ''It will be good if the driver will be a male. The Principal have high hopes for the Kovichkov Twins.'' The twins? Why? ''The twins are from Germany, the first Zeppelin airship was created there and was designed by Ferdinand, Graf von Zeppelin, a retired German army officer, and made its initial flight from a floating hangar on Lake Constance, near Friedrichshafen, Germany, on July 2, 1900.'' A hand arose from one of us. ''What is it, Yuriy?'' ''The principal has high hope for us so we can gain airships from my country?'' ''Exactly, Mr. Yuriy.'' Ahh...This is some kind of negotiations. Once we win, the Germany will get some credits and the principal is usng that to gain accessibility to the German Armed Forces. ''I'll continue my lesson now. The main types of airship are non-rigid, semi-rigid, and rigid. Non-rigid airships, often called 'blimps', rely on internal pressure to maintain their shape. Semi-rigid airships maintain the envelope shape by internal pressure, but have some form of supporting structure, such as a fixed keel, attached to it. Rigid airships have an outer structural framework that maintains the shape and carries all structural loads, while the lifting gas is contained in one or more internal gasbags or cells. Rigid airships were first flown by Count Zeppelin and the vast majority of rigid airships built were manufactured by the firm he founded, Luftschiffbau Zeppelin. As a result, rigid airships are often called zeppelins. The chosen student will operate a rigid airship. Any questions by far?'' ''If you successfully chose a student, who will teach the chosen student?'' ''Me.'' ''Ehh?'' The class started to doubt him. ''It's true, though, I'll be teaching that student every 18 o'clock. Oh, you have to take the exam for it in Germany. Hehehe.'' His not cute at all. ''Ah, Sir?'' ''Yes, Rheanelle?'' ''How about the blimp crew, Sir?'' I asked. ''Hmmm. I'll talk to the principal about that matter. Now, we will be focusing on the rigid type. A rigid airship has a rigid framework covered by an outer skin or envelope. The interior contains one or more gasbags, cells or balloons to provide lift. Rigid airships are typically unpressurised and can be made to virtually any size...'' ''...The most commonly used lifting gas, helium, is inert and therefore presents no fire risk...'' This is so long to listen if I have my target on something. ''... A series of vulnerability tests were done by the UK Defense Evaluation and Research Agency or DERA on a Skyship 600. Since the internal gas pressure was maintained at only one to two percent above the surrounding air pressure, the vehicle proved highly tolerant to physical damage or to attack by small-arms fire or missiles...'' The bell rang, ending our class with Professor Aaron. We got back to our room. ''Tomorrow, you'll be flying that thing. Individually.'' What?! ''But we haven't learned it, sir.'' Ryuu complained. ''I didn't asked for your opinion. If you join the military, during a war you cannot just wait and learn from your surrounding. Use that brains of yours and test your abilities. If you die doing it, then you learned it was not for you. If you master it, then its for you. Live if its meant to be yours and die if you have completed your mission in this world and that experiment of yours is the gateway for you to say goodbye.'' I don't know if I should be mad or happy. I'm confused of this man. I am very confused if he encouraged us to try new things or just die. ''Remember this. Being in the military is risky and you can die in the process. You should live your life on the way you want it to be. If you are tired then die. That is always the easiest solution for that. If you still have that burning soul in you after all that you have endured, then strive a way to survive. Dying doesn't always meant that your a coward for the future in front of you. Sometimes it just meant you have endured the most painful sceneries in your life and your capacity is full. We're still human, you know. We are not some gadgets that can be expanded by a memory expander.'' That speech was cool. I wanna hear that again. Professor Aaron left the room as he finished that cool encouragement. ''He-hey. Is that really Professor Aaron?'' ''Yes. That was clearly h-him.'' After Professor Glenn and Professor Xyron's lessons, our class for today ended. ''Rheanelle?'' Peach suddenly ask as she noticed that I'm going in the other direction. ''Oh. I forgot to tell you. Denver invited me in a group study.'' ''Ever since that first study you two have, you've been weird and all. What exactly happened?'' Stella asked straightforwardly. I just bit my lower lip. ''We're still friends right?'' ''Of course! I'll tell it to you when I got back, okay?'' ''Okay!'' *sigh. Thank you so much because they understand. I arrived at the library. And just like last time, Denver is waiting. ''Denver...'' ''Rheanelle...'' woah... The way he pronounced my name....WTF? Shoot...that was sexy... ''S-so..what type or types of doctor are you applying?'' I stutterly asked. ''Neurosurgeon and Cardiac Surgeon.'' ''That's hard. Well, I can understand that since your smart and all but isn't that not to needed in a war?'' ''Most people think. I can't believe your one of those people...'''He smirked. ''I'll just take that as a compliment.'' ''It is mostly first aiders that will be needed. But what about those person who got injured in areas where I can specialize. Normal doctors are far away during a war. And its hard to commute during a battle. So I want to be an on-the spot Neurosurgeon and Cardiac Surgeon.'' What a genius human being... I didn't even think of that. ''Okay. That's some serious and smart thinking you got there.'' I complimented him. ''I take the compliment.'' ''I'll take the notes and you'll just focus, okay.'' ''Why? Your applying for doctorate, right? Why should I drill this thing on my head only?'' he asked. ''I'm specializing on OB/GYN and General Surgeon.'' ''I can see why. That would mean we couldn't be in the same field.'' ''Oh. My uncle said that all doctors of the mission will stay at a certain place. Far from the battlefield but close for emergencies.'' ''Your uncle? Professor Wister. Have you talked about the issue with him?'' ''I'll try this Sunday.'' Still, I am doubting both Denver and uncle. ''Let's just continue, shall we?'' ''Okay.'' ''A neurologist treats conditions of the nerves, spine, and brain. People may see a neurologist for :epilepsy, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, neuropathy, stroke and migraine. Shall I start with Epilepsy?'' ''Yeah. I'll take the notes for you.'' I offered. ''I'll start now. Epilepsy is a group of neurological disorders characterized by recurrent epileptic seizures. Epileptic seizures are episodes that can vary from brief and nearly undetectable periods to long periods of vigorous shaking due to abnormal electrical activity in the brain. A neurological disorder is any disorder of the nervous system. Structural, biochemical or electrical abnormalities in the brain, spinal cord or other nerves can result in a range of symptoms.'' His so damn handsome reading the book. I'm having the urge to kiss him. ''...The word epilepsy is from Ancient Greek ἐπιλαμβάνειν, 'to seize, possess, or afflict'...Are you still with me, Rheanelle?'' His eyes...The light from the setting sun is reflecting in his blue eyes. Wait...His staring back at me.. My face turns unbelievably red. ''Rheanelle?'' ''Let's just continue, four-eyes!'' ''That's mean. Rheanelle...are you, somehow, have any affection for me?'' Huh? ''Affection? I don't know what that thing feels.'' ''Well, I know that feeling since 10 years ago.'' He look at me in the eyes. ''I have felt that and the pain when I couldn't see the source of that feeling for 10 years, Rheanelle.'' ''I'm sorry.'' My eyes are tearing up. ''Don't be sorry. It's not your fault. We were immobile at that time. I am very sorry if I couldn't protect you.'' ''As you said, we were immobile that time. No need to be sorry. Shall we continue with the Parkinston's disease?'' ''Okay...After mine. Let's start with your Ob/gyn.'' I just nodded. ''Parkinson's disease , or simply Parkinson's, is a long-term degenerative disorder of the central nervous system that mainly affects the motor system. The symptoms usually emerge slowly, and as the disease worsens, non-motor symptoms become more common. The most obvious early symptoms are tremor, rigidity, slowness of movement, and difficulty with walking...'' I really want to kiss this man. He stopped. I raised my head to ask. ''What's wro--'' Denver's Pov ''...The word epilepsy is from Ancient Greek ἐπιλαμβάνειν, 'to seize, possess, or afflict'...Are you still with me, Rheanelle?'' She is literally staring at me. What is it, Rheanelle? Your making me anxious. She snapped out of it. She just noticed me staring back at her. Her face turns unbelievably red. ''Rheanelle?'' I asked. Is she okay? Does she have a fever? ''Let's just continue, four-eyes!'' How rude! ''That's mean. Rheanelle...are you, somehow, have any affection for me?'' I asked her directly. ''Affection? I don't know what that thing feels.'' ''Well, I know that feeling since 10 years ago.''I answered and look at her in the eyes. ''I have felt that and the pain when I couldn't see the source of that feeling for 10 years, Rheanelle.'' ''I'm sorry.'' Her eyes is watery. ''Don't be sorry. It's not your fault. We were immobile at that time. I am very sorry if I couldn't protect you.'' I apologized. If I wasn't immobile... If I was strong that time...You never have lost your memory of us...you never have to live your life with a fake family...and I wouldn't experience that pain in such a young age. ''As you said, we were immobile that time. No need to be sorry. Shall we continue with the Parkinston's disease?'' ''Okay...After mine. Let's start with your Ob/gyn.'' I offered She just nodded. ''Parkinson's disease , or simply Parkinson's, is a long-term degenerative disorder of the central nervous system that mainly affects the motor system. The symptoms usually emerge slowly, and as the disease worsens, non-motor symptoms become more common. The most obvious early symptoms are tremor, rigidity, slowness of movement, and difficulty with walking...'' Her hair is covering my view in her face. I'm feeling some urge. And so I stopped. She raised her head. Perfect. ''What's wro---'' I cut her words. I comb her hair to the back of her ear, cherished her cheeks and kissed her in the forehead. I kissed her in the forehead. I kissed her forehead. It's the right thing. I don't want to rush her. ''W-what w-was th-that for?'' ''It's a sign that I love you and I won't rush things. Your still not ready for some romance. I respect it. Even if I have the urge to kiss you in your lips, I don't wanna take it this time. I felt that today is the wrong timing. I love you and I respect you. I don't want that what's happening between us right now will change tomorrow. I do want for us to change our status. But not now. Let's take things slowly, Rheanelle.'' I hope she's not hurt by what I said. ''Okay, Denver. Promise me you won't find someone.'' As she smiled, tears jumped out of her eyes. ''I promised that.'' ''I'll promise to wait for the right time. That settled it.'' I got home around 20 in the evening. ''Denver! Your home late today.'' my roommate Louise said. ''Ah. A very joyful moment happened in my life. I'll cherished it.''
