Rheanelle's PoV
(September 24, 2134: Glenn's PoV)
14:12
''Rheanelle!''
''Denver? What is it?''
''Are you available for the rest of the day?''
That's weird. It is the first time he never talk about school.
''Why? Is there something I can help you with this afternoon?''
''I was hoping if you could join me for a pair study.''
''Why me?''
''Because your the one on par with my IQ. Mine is 154 and yours is 153. That's only 1 IQ apart.''
Ehh? But I have to help Stella with the birthday cake.
''Okay. I get it. But Colter from Class 1-B have a 150 IQ. We can have him too?''
''He had something to do.''
Well, I have something to do too.
''Okay. At the library, right?''
''Yeah. So its settled. 17:45''
I just nodded.
17:24
''Okay, goodbye, Class 1-A''
The students left the room one by one.
I stayed at the room with Stella and Peach.
''What? You didn't prepare a party for me. What do you want?'' Glenn asked cutely.
''Stop it, Glenn. You're already 20. Just a little s*x and you'll be content.'' I said.
''But Stella isn't ready yet.'' Glenn exclaimed.
Stella covered his lips with her hands.
''Shut up. I haven't marry you yet.''
Oh please. Nope, Stella, Nope.
''Your planning to marry that guy?'' Peach asked.
*KNOCK!*
A strong knock got our attention in the door.
''Your busy tonight? Wanna date?''
Peach's fiance.
Gosh, I'm surrounded by idiots who is blinded by this thing called 'love'
I'll just believe it when I experience it myself.
''Can't you find someone better?'' Glenn asked that I couldn't help my boiling blood then slapped him.
''What did you just say about Peach?'' Stella asked him with an angered face.
''Peach? No, I'm talking to Peach about how she can't find someone better than Brent.'' Glenn said and Stella's face got normal.
''I'm sorry for slapping you, I thought you talked about Peach.''
I willingly apologized.
Sometimes, things heat up quickly.
''HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!'' Peach laughed. ''We will be going now.'' She walk towards her man and smiled at us.
Thank to someone, her smile is back.
3 years ago, when I met her at the Senior Military School, she had this vibe that thirst for blood.
But Stella change it. Stella broke down all the walls in her heart. And when she met Brent during a videocall, boom! Everything is so bright.
''I'll talk to you later, Glenn. You can talk s**t about me but I'll freaking kill you if you bad-mouthed Peach.'' Brentsaid and they left.
''I gotta go. Denver invited me for a pair study.'' I said as I remember our meeting.
Its 17:34 now.
''Okay.'' Stella bid me goodbye.
I just waved a hand while I walk out.
*sigh*
''I hope it won't turn out weird for the two of us...''
I walk inside the library and saw him reading.
''Rheanelle!''
''Sssshhhh''
''Oh, I'm sorry.''
Geesh. His so excited. How is this exciting?
Sometimes, I think his an i***t.
''So, what's the topic about?'' I asked him as I sat, facing him.
''Antibiotics and Anti-Cancer cells.''
''That's the topic needed for the first-year doctors needed for the mission. Are you planning to take the test?''
''I thought it was obvious from the start.''
''Ummm, I really thought you'll join the commanding team.''
''Its my dream to be a doctor, but I was sent here.''
''That's a sad story. Anyways, I am planning to join the commanding team. So. shall we begin.''
''I thought your applying for the doctors...''
''I am not interested in that.''
Then I made harsh a realization.
''You invited me because you thought I am applying for doctorate?''
''Yeah. I thought you were. Its stupid of me to not even ask where your applying.''
''We can still study with each other, though...''
I wanna say sorry, but I don't wanna make him be more sad.
''It doesnt matter where we are appl--''
''No, it matters.''
Huh?
''O-Of course, its not, Denver.''
''Arguing are for stupids, let's just study.'' He said and fix his glasses.
This four-eyes...
''An antibiotic is a type of antimicrobial substance active against bacteria. It is the most important type of antibacterial agent for fighting bacterial infections, and antibiotic medications are widely used in the treatment and prevention of such infections. They may either kill or inhibit the growth of bacteria.''
He read the definition.
''We should take note of where the word came from, it might be included.''
Sometimes, the term antibiotic—literally "opposing life", from the Greek roots ἀντι anti, "against" and βίος bios, "life"—is broadly used to refer to any substance used against microbes, but in the usual medical usage, antibiotics such as penicillin, are those produced naturally (by one microorganism fighting another), whereas non-antibiotic antibacterials like sulfonamides and antiseptics are fully synthetic.
''What does penicillin mean? I know I've heard it before.''
Denver gaped at me.
''Penicillins are a group of antibiotics originally obtained from Penicillium moulds, principally P. chrysogenum and P. rubens. Most penicillins in clinical use are chemically coalesced from naturally-produced penicillins. A number of natural penicillins have been discovered, but only two purified compounds are in clinical use: penicillin G for intravenous use, and penicillin V to be intake by mouth.''
Where did he learn that?
''You really are suited to be a doctor.''
''And its a waste if you won't be joining me.'' he said.
''Modern Antibiotics are discovered by Alexander Fleming in 1928.''
''Sir Alexander Fleming, FRS FRSE FRCS, born in 6 August 1881 and died on 11 March 1955, was a Scottish physician and microbiologist, best known for discovering the world's first broadly effective antibiotic substance, which he named penicillin. His discovery in 1928 of what was later named benzylpenicillin or penicillin G from the mould Penicillium rubens is described as the "single greatest victory ever achieved over disease. For this discovery, he shared the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1945 with Howard Florey and Ernst Boris Chain, two incredible people associated in science.''
And so it continued for an hour before we went home.
''I really had a fun time, Denver.''
''Yeah.'' Ehh? Is it not fun for him?
''Hey...Is it a waste of time?'' I ask.
''Yes...''
Eh? That stinged.
''...It's a waste of time for you to join the commanding team. You should be joining the doctors, Rheanelle,'' He looked at me.
''W-what? That's funny. I have clearly told you, doctorate is not my choice.''
''Are you out of your mind, Rheanelle. Being a doctor is part in our blood.''
''Part of what? Your the one who isn't in the right mind here is you, Denver.'' He grabbed me by the my shoulders.
''Have you forgotten, Rheanelle? Have you forgotten the laboratory that we came from?''
Laboratory?
''What a-are you ta-talking about?''
Rheanelle, its me, STV-00002.''
As he said the numbers, I felt a tignling sensation in my head.
''Have you forgotten, huh, STV-00004?''
My head...it hurts...
''This is STV-00002 and STV-00004.''
The sound...it's cracking my head open...
''That night, ten years ago in the laboratory, a huge explosion happenned in the north wing of the underground research area. I was awake in my tank that night, with you beside me. There were a lot of noises in the room that we stayed. I heard clangings of metal and such. But I couldn't move. When I heard the sound of electrical chords being cut, I knew you were being targeted.''
What are you saying, Denver?
''I have parents. They died when I was seven. I'm the only one who survived that car crash. I lost all my memories because of that accident, so don't go staining the reminiscines of my parents wsith dirty stories, Denver.''
I aggressively left him.
''You were with me ar dusk but you were gone when the dawn came, Rheanelle. Think of how much I suffer losing my girl like that.'' I looked back at him.
''If that's really true, then I never left you. I was kidn*pped and I don't know shits. Drill that in that huge brains of yours, Denver or STV-I don't give a damn.
And if you are in a tank, how come you can hear the surruondings and I can't. If that was 10 years ago, were just 7 and 8, I was never your girl.''
I saw the pain and trauma in his eyes. Tears slowly crawling in his skin.
I wanna hug you but what you did is unforgivable until I get a good reason for this.
''There is so many IF's.'' I mumbled.
Tears flowing down my cheeks. I turned around with my head bowed down.
''I really wish that you might just mistaken for someone because if its not, then we can't restore the friendship that we had.''
Had...Its permanently wounded and scarred. The probability of us gaining of what we have is too low for bringing back.
I head straight to the dorm.
This sucks.
