"It's not a big deal. I can get extra paid anyways "she responded, filling the trolley with the boxes.
"Alright. I've got to leave now. The weather forecast said there will be a heavy thunderstorm today. I haven't picked up clothes "Skylar said as she searched through her locker for her keys.
"Go back then "Izzy answered.
"Okay, l'm leaving. Bye "Skylar waved, walking out and Izzy nodded.
"Bye-bye "she responded.
Zach is driving alone, with the bouquet of flowers lying on the other seat. He switched on the speaker in the car.
"Emergency forecast from observatory. Between 1pm and 10pm today, there will be a chance of thunderstorms. Please take precautions when you go out. Do drive carefully to avoid accidents and collisions "The lady announcer spoke up and Zach let out a sigh.
Darting his eyes to his side view mirror, he noticed a car has been following him for quite some time now. He knew exactly who they were.
The occupants of his car were actually his elder brother's, Liam, two minions. Behind them were dangerous weapons for fighting.
Zach took an unexpected turn and they came to an abrupt halt. "Wait. Why did he change route? Did he find us? "The slim guy said, alarmed.
"Don't worry, we'll catch up with him at the next intersection "The fat guy, driving the car, insisted.
"Call Mr. Grayson first "
Liam laughed, sarcastically, going through his phone when the telephone rang aloud. The secretary handed it over to him.
"Shoot. "
"Mr. Grayson, we lost him "His minion said with a shaken voice.
"What?! How did that happen? "He yelled, infuriated.
"He suddenly swerved at the junction. We can't do anything "
"Then find him. Check all the routes to memorial park else you'd be toast! "he deadpanned and hung up.
He continued his sarcastic laughter going through his phone. The youngest son of the Hidalgos, Mateo, sneaked in and hugged him from behind.
Liam turned and realizing it was him, placed his hand over his neck and ruffled his hair. Mateo pouted, holding his head.
"What are you doing here all sneaky? "Liam asked, walking to his seat and Mateo trailed behind him.
"Well, why do you always have to hit my head? "he whined, taking his seat across Liam.
"That's because you always startle but you're still my loving younger brother, you know, right? "Liam stated with a wide grin.
"Whatever! "Mateo muttered, grumpily. "Listen to me, if you do it again, l'd tell brother Zach "he added.
"Hey! Stop mentioning him, l'm your biological brother, okay? "He scolded, pissed off.
"We are all brother anyways "Mateo mumbled and he huffed.
He stood up and said, "Not like that. Come with me! l'll take you to eat some delicacies "
"Your treat? "
"Sure thing "
"Let's go then "
He took another route, increasing his speed but to his surprise, the brakes weren't responding. Scared to the bones, he applied force but they were still failing.
Who tampered with the brakes of his car? It was probably his elder brother, he never thought he would stoop this low to get him out of the way.
A school bus was approaching him and having no knowledge of what else to do, he drove to the other side, and his car flew off the road landing in the river below.
Izzy stretched her body, tiredly as she exhaled deeply. She was so exhausted from the day's work that she couldn't wait to get home.
She opened her lockers and that's when she heard thunderclap. She hurried and by the way she was riding, it had already started raining.
Zach climbed his way up to the road. Bruised and injured, he made his way to the center of the road. The front light of Izzy's scooter shone brightly on Zach's face and he covered his face.
Izzy screamed aloud as she applied force on the brakes to stop the scooter but she only received a loud screech. Zach screamed as well, stunned and weak to even move a limb.
Izzy's scooter knocked him over, sending him flying through the air to land in the streets. He fell unconscious instantly.
The scooter fell over, causing Izzy to fall down and it took complete sixty seconds before she could move a limb. She stood up and looked at the guy she just ran over, horrified.
She ran over to where he laid and crouched down. "Hey, wake up "she said, shaking him and realizing he was unconscious.
"Send him to an hospital, yes "she said and carried him up.
The nurse rolled the stretcher where Zach laid, hurriedly, heading for a ward. "Make way! Make way, please! Excuse me! "The nurses yelled, getting everyone to leave the way.
Izzy trailed behind them, worried. The nurse stopped at a distance.
"Stay right here and l'll go get the doctor. Just a moment "One of them rasped and they ran off to get the doctor.
Zach groaned on the stretcher, moving his head, feeling so uncomfortable. His clothes were shredded and his body filled with a series of cuts and bruises. His leg was severely injured.
"Wait for a while. They went to ask the doctor here "Izzy said, softly and Zach got up a little, using his hands to support himself.
"What's wrong? Are you alright? How do you feel? "Izzy asked but he stared at her, weirdly. He looked around and noticed the minions following him.
He gasped and pulled Izzy over to cover his face.
"Did you see him? "The slim guy asked a lady and she shook her head, staring at the photo.
"No "
"Look closely. This height, injured! "he demanded.
Izzy looked behind and then, back at him. The nurse walked past them, pushing Izzy towards Zach and their lips brushed against each other.
Izzy gasped and moved away from him. Zach's eyes widened as he stared at her.
"I didn't- "Zach was going to explain but Izzy gave him a tight slap across his face and he fell down, unconscious.
