After a three-hour drive, Teddy and Damian reached their new home, back in their old house in another town. It was still dark when they had arrived, but daybreak would be in a couple of hours. They slept in their jeepney and waited for the sun to rise.
Although Damian didn’t say a word, Teddy could feel through his ragged breathing that he had difficulty with long hours of sitting.
He left the light switched on so he could check on Damian while they were driving. He got out of the driver’s side, walked to the other side of the front seat, and tapped his father awake.
