My High School Obsession

Welcome back to the s**t hole they call Greenlands high school. Home of the Vikings, go team spirit or whatever.

I hate it here, when my family up and moved my freshman year I was excited for a new start, but now I can’t wait to get out. My feelings might have something to do with the only man to have ever caught my attention and him being a class A jackass. River Williams might be God’s gift to the female population in this town but I want nothing to do with the dark-haired football player. The guy is an attention seeking you-know-what who soaks up fan adoration like it’s his due in life for being hot and talented. Damn. Did I just say that?

All right, fine...I’ll grudgingly admit that River is decent looking. I suppose if you’re into guys who resemble Greek gods with abs of steel and chiseled pecs, then sure, one could consider him attractive.

Am I guilty of having a tiny, practically non-existent crush on him? I’d prefer not to answer that question ever.

Thankfully, I quickly came to my senses after I accidentally bumped into him one day three years ago. And by came to my sense I mean I kept my obsession extremely private.

It was my first day and I was lost trying to navigate the halls of the huge new school. My class schedule, books, and his coffee spewed out into the the empty hallway while a string of curses fell from his lips.

Dropping to my knees trying to pick and clean everything up and profusely apologizing apparently wasn’t enough because He was still berating me with curse words. When I finally looked up it’s like Someone stole all of the air in the hall. I’d never seen someone so devastatingly handsome. The entirety of that was cut short when his eyes finally connected with mine. I was met with the coldest look I’ve ever seen and a simple “are you f*****g stupid?” Was the only thing to come out of his mouth.

With the moment apparently only I was feeling shattered I straightened my spine, picked up my stuff, said a quiet apology and ran off.
