“Have you got them?”

“Answer me Alaina. Did you really think I would sign them.? I told youdivorce would never be on the cards.”

“And I never expected life to be so f*****g hard with you.”

“Hell no. You trust me like s**t and you expect me to just stand around and take it.”

“Not anymore. Just let me go Elijah so you can go back to your playboy life without me being in it so you can fuxk all the whores you want.”

I could feel her gritting her teeth through the line. “Without me there having to witness it no wife should have to witness their husband cheat on them over and over over again not giving a s**t about them.”

“I don’t give a s**t about you Alaina, this was a business marriage nothing else.”

“Then let me go.”

“Fine. I’ve already signed the papers, but be warned you went against our contract so be warned Alaina I don’t play fair you’ll find yourself jobless and homeless cause I’ll make sure no one will ever hire your sorry ass after this . Once Uni is over get the hell out of my apartment.”

“Gladly.” She said, cutting the call.

Luca looked at Alaina and tears were flooding out of her eyes. “What’s wrong angel?”

“He’s received the divorce papers.”

“Let me guess, he refused to sign them.”

“He signed then.”

He looked shocked at her. “Well that was unexpected. I expected him to take them up.”

“He’s angry, Luca, angry I spoiled his contract. He's going to make sure everything in my life now becomes my living hell.”

He pulled her to him, wrapping his arms around her. “No he’s not. I’m here with you and I’m not going anywhere, you have always got me and your job as long as you want both.”

“Thanks Luca.”

“You’re my friend Alaina. I love you.” He said, suddenly pressing his lips on hers kissing her surprising her she eventually returned his kiss and he kissed her deeply and passionately.

Now, the next time has come and gone.



The third year of Uni was almost over and Mason had called me into his office. He sat in his large leather seat. He looked up at me and smiled. “Mrs. Rivera, please take a seat.”

“Please call me Alaina.”

He smiled. I sat opposite the big oak desk. “You sent for me?”

“I did.”

“Did I do something wrong?”

“Not at all Alaina. Elijah called me.”

He took a deep breath. “He has stopped all funding for your course.”

“He what?!”

“I’m sorry Alaina. Without funding you’ll have to leave university.”

“I can’t f*****g bleive this. First he insults me by practically pushing me out of the door to come here. Now he wants me thrown out of here and messes up everything I’ve worked so hard for. He’s a f*****g asshole. I should never have agreed to his contract in the first place ?”

Mason quirked an eyebrow. “Is there something I should know about Alaina?”

I looked at him. “I thought you said you knew Elijah?”

“I do, but we barely speak. We went our separate ways after Uni. This was the first time I’d heard from him in ten years, Alaina.’

“You can trust me Alaina. I’m here to help, I’m here not only as your Dean but as your friend.”

I nodded and took a deep breath and told him how I had met Elijah and his contract to him to say the look on his face was disgusted was beyond shock and disgust for his old friend.

Then he promised. “I will sort this out Alaina I promise you. You deserve your place here in this university. You've worked so hard in the past three years and I personally don’t want to see your ambition and hard work go to waste.”

“Thank you Mason, that means a lot.”

He smiled. “You have more friends here than you are aware.”

I smiled, pulling myself up out of the chair leaving his office wondering what the hell he meant by that.

Luca met me outside. “So what did the Dean want?”

“That asshole stopped the funding for my course because I sent him the divorce papers. I know he threatened to stop me from being able to work anywhere if I ever tried to divorce him. This was never initiated in the contract.”

“Let me have a look at the contract again angel it dated before university was even stated and you can sue him for diligence and going against the terms of the contract even if it is void.”

I nodded.

“We’ll sort this Angel l I’ll help you as much as I possibly can.”

“Thanks there’s no need Luca you’ve done so much already.”

“And it’s my pleasure Angel and it always will be.” He said, pulling me into him for a passionate kiss.

I had so much to thank him for but little did I know his intentions.

True to his word Mason had managed to pull whatever strings were necessary to keep me in Uni. One more year, just one more year and I’ll be a university graduate.

I was working frantically in the restaurant owned by Luca’s parents when four butch looking males came in wearing suits they looked serious and frightening were they mafia like Luca? Or had they been hired by someone else to check out the premises?

My last conclusion was confirmed when I saw them showing a picture to one of the waitresses who pointed toward me. I swallowed hard, my nerves setting in. What did they want with me?

They strode casually over. “Mrs. Alaina Rivera?”

I swallowed hard. “No Hamilton.”

“Well I’m that case Miss Hamilton I am here to serve notice form a Mr. Elijah Rivera, your ex husband to be. You signed a contract stating if you were ever to divorce him you;d lose everything and in no ways or means would anyone be able to hire you. Her jaw dropped. There was no such s**t in the contract Luca had studied it, hard and got a second opinion, a third, even a forth including his father. “What utter bullshit, I’ve read that document and there is no mention of any f*****g summons so take a running f*****g jump anc tell Mr. f*****g Rivera to go and f**k himslef.”

Luca wrapped his arms around her, kissing her cheek he’d heard the commotion anc saw how stiff she had gone when the four men had approached her, he was on standby watching the scene unravel to see how she would react to them now he was pissed and beyond angry what s**t had Elijah Rivera spilled to get these guys here there was no such f*****g clause they’d had a magnafine glass to it to make sure he that they hadn’t missed anything out. This was utter bullshit and it was all about to crash around them and blow up in Elijah Rivera’s face. He locked up with a deathly stare at the four men that were trying to intimidate his woman. “And who are you?” The one asked.

“My name is Luca Romero, why may I ask, are you in my establishment harassing my girl?”

“We are here on behalf of Mr. Rivera concerning the contract that she signed four years ago stating if she filed,for divorce to Mr. Rivera, she would be left with nothing and would not be able to get work anywhere. You sir are going against that contract and you have been warned several times by Mr. Rivera to terminate Miss. Hamilton anc you have failed to do so. We have been sent with a summons of 1.5 mil on deferring the contract that Mr. Rivera set with Miss. Hamilton before they married.”

“May I see it?”

“You may, but I can assure you it’s all in order.”

He said getting the contract out of his pocket. Handing it to Luca who took it off him and began to read it, even the fine print, what urter bullshit he’d changed the f*****g contract and managed to copy ehr signature on to it were these fools not aware that he had Alaina’s copy and the best of the best had read through it and had commented it was shady he was just waiting for it to come back to see if their were any floors in it so they could use it agianst him and sue him for any misconceptions agianst Alaina.”

He looked at them and smirked. Tearing it up. “Now it’s non void.”

“Lucky for us Mr. Rivera saw this coming and had an extra copy made.” He smirked, worng move.

Luca nodedd and the copy documentation was slid out of the guys pocket and handed it to him. Luca smirked victoriously. “Now that was a stupid move on your part, now you have no copy and now I can put this against the real contract and make sure Mr. Rivera gets what is comeing to him.” He said confidently.

They both looked confused as hell what information had Elijah failed to tell them?

“You still need to fire Miss. Hamilton, Mr. Romero or you could lose your buisnes.”

“You have no idea who you are dealing with you? I am the great Luca Romero my father owns this city, so I suggest you f**k off your upsetting my woman. You can either leave dead or alive I leave the choidemup to you. You either walk out of here woth you limbs intact or I will put a bullet through your head. Take your pick.”

“Such a shame, he should’ve looked into who he was dealing with fist before he sent you here.”

They nodded turning leaving. Luca kissed her forehead. “Everything’s going to be okay angel.”

“Maybe you should just fire me, Luca I don’t want to cause you any trouble.”

“Pure not causing me any trouble angel. I’m not letting go of you everytng likes you here.. I like you here where I can take care of you, Angel don’t even think abotu leaving okay?”

He smield. “We’ll make him pay for this angle he will suffer I can promise you that.” He said, leaning down pressing his lips on hers kissing her passionately.
