I walked up to her, lifting her chin in the palm of my hand. "Not happening."
"Yes it is. I've had enough of this life. It's torture Elijah, you said it yourself I'm just here to fill the gaps in. The ones your whores can't. I'm sick of coming last, I'm sick of the way you treat me. I should never have agreed to the stupid marriage. I'm leaving, you can have all the whores you like and I won't even get in the way cause I won't be here."
"You're never leaving me Alaina so you understand?"
"You blackmailed me into this pathetic marriage. I'm done, I can no longer bear to be with you. Looking at you makes me sick. I can't stand your face in mine."
I inched forward pressing my lips on hers kissing her with all I have in me. Tears are slipping down her face. "I love you Alaina." I moved away from her. "I'm never going to let you divorce me Alaina. So get used to it."
"Just let me go Elijah you don't need me."
"I had a surprise for you, I was hoping to tell you at the office but you left."
She looked at me.
"I managed to get you a place at university I know you've always wanted to go and finish your education, so I talked to the professor and he managed to get you a place."
"Wow thanks. Now you're getting rid of me with grand gestures yet you won't divorce me."
"I'm not trying to get rid of you Alaina. I know you don't want the position of my P.A. Forever, so I wanted you to take this time to finish your studies. You deserve the best in life."
"A divorce is the best thing right now not Uni."
"So you won't be going?"
"Oh I will, just to get away from you."
"You don't mean that Alaina. You love me as much as I love you."
"Don't fool yourself Elijah, you've never had any feelings for me and I have none for you."
"That's not true."
"I don't need your lies Elijah I'm done with them. Once I return I want a divorce."
"I'm giving you this time to change your mind."
"I'll never change it. I'm done with this bull s**t life."
"And where will you go, Alaina? You have no one but me."
"I'll find somewhere."
"No one will hire you. I'll make sure of that if you go ahead with this."
"Just go Elijah I'm done with your bullshit. I don't even get why you ever helped me. You could've done it without any of this and none of this would be happening now."
"Just remember you brought this all on by yourself." I stormed out of the room, the ungrateful b***h after all I did for her and this is how she repays me. She'll never find work anywhere. I'll make sure of it.
Elijah
She walked into the hall with her suitcase with only a month left till campus opened for classes she'd decided to leave now, now of all days. She hadn't eaten and she was ready to leave. "Going already?"
"The sooner I'm out of here the better."
"But you haven't eaten."
"I'm not hungry."
"Let me do you something."
"Are you not listening? I'm. Not. Hungry!"
"Fine let me drive you and we'll get something on the way."
"Whatever."
I pulled myself up grabbing my keys walking over to her opening the door. "Ladies first."
"How thoughtful." She said, cutting her eyes.
I f*****g hated it when she done that. She stepped out I took her suitcase off her and pressed a button to open the locks, on the car doors and boot. She opened the door, getting in closing the door, belting up. I opened the car boot putting her suitcase in. How did it all ever come to this? I closed the boot walking up to the drivers door opening it getting in. I belted up starting the engine putting the car into gear, pulling away. We grabbed a coffee and something to eat on the way. We got to the campus and she got her dorm keys and I pulled the suitcase in. "Well I guess this is it."
"I guess. Thanks for all of this Elijah. I know you didn't have to do any of this."
"I wanted to. You are a clever, and gifted girl. You need more than my company can offer you." I leaned forward kissing her passionately. I moved away. "I'll see you soon angel."
"Mmm."
"And you're never getting that divorce."
'We shall see." She mumbled, shutting the door behind her.
"Yes we shall." I said to myself as I closed the car door,and pulled away. She'll never get what she wants, I'll make sure of it.
