“What happened darling?” “I don’t need your pity Jasper.” “This isn’t pity met darling, this is concern for a friend. I know we didn’t get off on the best foot. But, we are friends and friends are always there for each other and look out for each other.” “I know, I’m sorry. I just miss my parents, I miss talking to them. I can’t believe that they’re no longer with me and I have to put up with this asshole until the debt is paid, if it ever is.” “What is the deal between you and Mr. Rivera?′ He looked at her. ’If you don’t mind me asking.” “I was his intern at his company through college. My parents passed away leaving a lot of debt and the only way it would get paid off was by this dumb contract between me and Elijah. He wanted a contract marriage, he’d pay off the debt, but I had to become his wife and do as a wife does whilst he is allowed to do what he damn pleases.” “And you agreed to this?” “I had no choice, I had nothing, no job, no home. Just college I had no other choice so I could survive. Now I’m regretting it.” He held me closer. “What did he do to you, Alaina?” The tears fell freely down my face. “I’m so sorry Alaina, we all knew he was ruthless but not this ruthless. I’ll get you through all of this, I promise. We’ll find a loophole in the contract so we can get it terminated. And you are free of that monster. No matter how long it takes I will set you free Alaina, just sit tight cause I’m not sure how long this is going to take.” “Okay thanks.” “My pleasure darling. I have a few friends that will help me out without Elijah getting suspicious, just try not to piss him off okay.′ “I’ll try.” “I have to go now darling, I have a few clients today and I know I won’t see much of you after today as that asshole wants you back at work Monday. I’ll keep you up to date on how things are developing okay.” “Okay, thanks for all of this Jasper.” “We’re friends. That’s what friends are for.” He said, taking his arm from around her getting up kissing her forehead. “We’ll see each other soon darling, so keep your head hold high.” “I will thanks.” He smiled walking away closing the door behind him she fell to the bed her tears falling onto the pillow, how the hell was she going to survive this marriage without going insane? Alaina walked towards the office where Elijah worked; she hated this place; she only agreed to become his P.A. Because she'd worked alongside him during the two years at college, after her parents tragic death of her parents and he'd offered her a job and a place to stay. Little did she know it would never end her suffering. She'd been dealing with anxiety and depression since that god awful day, she was regretting her decision to become his wife. She didn't want him nor did she want to be married to that obnoxious asshole. He'd treated her like s**t since she'd agreed to it. She so desperately wanted to get away, get away from him, get away from everything. She had no life, no friends, nothing but him, the evil human being that was her boss and her husband. She knew he had no feelings for her, so why was he keeping her around? She walked to his office with the folders he had asked for she knocked but nothing so she decided to enter he always told her if he didn't answer he wasn't there so just to drop off whatever it was and he'd see to it when he returned, but today was different today felt off any other time he wouldn't be in his office and she'd just drop whatever in his desk and leave. Not today he was grunting and the sounds of a woman who he'd bent over the desk was moaning as he continued to take her from behind. Alaina stood frozen with her mouth agape she knew the ass hole had no feelings towards her but it still hurt. She dropped the files and ran out of there. She slammed the ladies bathroom door shut, the tears kept coming and there was nothing she could do about it why? Why me? She thought out loud if it wasn't bad enough to share a bed with the devil himself she had to deal with the amount of women he would screw before her.
